LOVE VERSUS FEAR - A CHOICE

We all have a fear of something even if it doesn't anymore 'rattle our cage' like it used to, maturity has a way of softening the blows in life to a large extent. Fear can present itself in many ways sometimes one can just have a fear of living in a certain country which is oppressive or in a somewhat 'narrow' household or sect, it can in fact be anything that's too restrictive. No one has the right to control another an if you allow your religion to control you - you are finished as has already been born out in those religiously controlled countries of today where everything takes a backward step in life and progress is a dirty word. Of course when you control you have little if no love within you at all, and where there is a void of love deceit, corruption, greed, devastation, stagnation, poverty, unhappiness and ultimately failure is but the sum total of what their worth is. Fear can be psychological, spiders. open places, the darkness, and whatever it is that manifests itself within you. It can be the fear of failure or being inadequate, it can be the fear of something new that for many is a hell in the making, whilst others see it as an endless area of opportunity, fear is but a mind construct.

The love walk, that is a way of life that sees the good in everything whilst not negating the bad, it doesn't offend nor take offence, it isn't judgemental, although still free to form an opinion, it doesn't want to cause harm to score points, and it doesn't want to mentally belittle nor put people down to make the self feel good. It similarly doesn't follow celebrities nor others of a hollow disposition whilst it sees the possible qualities they have within them as human beings and the unfortunate failings which the press seem to revel in too. The love walk promotes health, happiness and a direction free from others ideas who may wish to impart on you for their good either by deed or in a financial way for their gain. It promotes a freedom that frightens dictators and unleashes the bonds that cause subservience and the ties that many self impose for lack of direction and personal respect. It's a strength that needs no others nor excuses nor lies or subterfuge which those in imperious positions need to survive. It cuts through corporate deceit, it shuns media lies, it breaks those who impart self importance as a false means of covering up their own failings, and it drives a hard bargain towards those that deploy unfairness to gain ground for self greed. The penalty for loss of love is by its own volition is death by and suffering for the many.

None of us are perfect, we have downfalls, we come into situations that hinder our way forward, we too come across as recipients of unfairness and greed by others, and we get temporarily thwarted by the 'gatekeepers' in life, those again who take it on themselves to select of which very few have any credentials as to seeing the bigger picture. Positive people have a love walk, genuine positive people that is, not the so called "happy people" who put on a facade like the New Age or many Coaches who talk the talk but have yet to find the walk and who are if you listen carefully still finding themselves. The strength we need to soldier on against at times a back drop of contrived negativity and a world created by evil religions and those that seek greed as a God of their following crumbles with love as a base. We too overcome the negativity that so many absorb like a sponge until they become actually saturated with "stuff" that is not of their making and that's the time they themselves become ill both physically and mentally. Mental health and a feeling of helplessness for many in the West is a recurring condition, for those in the Middle East it's an endless torment that will not be resolved for many years to come. You have a choice as to where your love walk goes, only you can make love an aspect of your life regardless of circumstances and conditions, it is a choice.

SEPARATING OURSELVES FROM CIRCUMSTANCES

We all fall victim at times to circumstances as they temporarily take over our own will and we thus become an alien to oureselves, this can happen when we have a death in the family, made redundant, diagnosed with a serious condition, have financial problems, etc, they affect directly our way of life and hit hard on our emotional stability. Of course we are not all the same and some people seem to worry about everything whereas others seemingly worry about very little and take whatever comes as it is and deal with it accordingly. There's no right or wrong we are who we are and administer areas of our lives the best we can. Sometimes things stagnate or get worse because we are ignorant and fail to seek help or assistance or advice which is what many do to their detriment. Ego, pride, self smugness etc, tends to creep in and we scorn knowledge that others may have built upon in similar circumatances of others and the possibilities that exist to ease the burden or relieve the mental stress that one has swimming around in their heads. Too many people walk around with the "I know best" attitude not knowing that the options thay have have just been negated because of the lack of clarity and forsight of the self. Carrying problems around in one's mind is not smart, it's not respectable, it's not a pennance for anything of the past, it's not necessary, it doesn't change anything, it doesn't promote anything, it doesn't justify anything, it doesn't preserve your identity and deeds, it doesn't help with the future, it doesn't contribute to your friends and family, it doesn't gain sympathy it grates on others as they look upon you as pityful, it's not a prelude to better things in the future, in short despite the severity of whatever it is you harbour it doesn't lead anywhere positive.
Our attitude towards life is paramount to how we live it, it's the base of all of our thoughts and feelings coming together to present whom we are to the world, our "Shop window", and whilst what lies behind that "Shop window" can vary enormously if the shop window looks and is shoddy, you know yourself you'll walk right on by. Whether it's raining, sunny, cold, snowy, etc, we can choose to be happy and bright, if we once start off the day with "Ohhhhh it's raining" then that's predominantly how the day will be and any other aspect related condition we have chosen will allow our feelings to match it. Those that look at the weather, see its raining and accordingly go forward determined to enjoy the day despite those obnoxious people they dislike at work, and missing the bus, and having to put up with the temporary office bercause of refurbishment, and things not being where they should be, and the party they are going to that evening that they are not too excited about, etc, the day is good and bright and yes they can smile and be civil to anyone regardless of how they are to them.

Failure, fear, loneliness, depression, etc, stem from taking hold of the circumstances around us and absorbing them like a sponge, we internalise them not seeing beyond the now and cogitating upon circumstantial aspects of life that could change or alter in a flash or offer solutuions and alternatives that because we don't know of we revert inwardly with a melancholic feeling. Habits and family traits are often a basic cause of this, the tendencies are if our families are negative then we have a chance to be negative too, and the opposite if our families are positive towards life in general then so are we. However, we all have choices and can directly change towards a positive mode should we really want to. Like "Soap TV" everything revolves around trivia or someone else's problems and smallmindedness, for without smallmindedness there wouldn't be a plot. It's one thing to watch such on television but many live in a smallminded arena in life and their lies their downfall and lack of real potential. It's almost failure in the making, with you feeding the ingredients towards it.

GETTING CONNECTED

There's a lot written about networking, 6 degrees of separation, who you know, etc, it's the "in thing" today to give everyone instant success. Just read a book, go to a network meeting, join a Business site (and they are popping up like the plague), and the rest will happen naturally. We will meet whoever it is that we need and that "Knight in Shining Armour" will say "You are just the person I've been looking for" and from there onwards it's all history. It's really that simple isn't it, that proverbial person 'out there' just waiting to meet up with us, the answer to why we can't do it alone, that conduit to greatness just a meeting away. Anyway, I must stop dreaming and come back to reality and look coldly at the real people I seem to meet at 'networking events'. No matter who we are and what we do we need people in the chain of life for without them nothing much happens. However what we seek from others, others may seek from us, and that's where in many cases the whole theory of networking no matter what guise it goes under 6 Degrees or whatever comes tumbling down. It doesn't matter what targeted audience one has it's all down to the individual and who they are as people or a person, what their hidden agenda is or what their motives are and how as an individual their characters are.

From the many networking meetings I been to all over the world I've come across the same people, mean, selfish, greedy, insincere, 'wannabies', often quite nice to talk to, but wanting to take but not give, if you can't help me I'm not going to help you, insipid and dull people, those seeking clues about how you do what you do but don't give anything of themselves, those wanting your contacts for themselves but still offer nothing of themselves and so it goes on. And I have to say I have met some fantastic nay fabulous contacts, but like mining diamonds you need to shift hundreds of tons of earth miles below the surface to even get near to the possibility of getting one. I write about the "gatekeepers" in life and those that hold back and retard others but here I must be honest and say I fall fowl of that very same thing and act as a gatekeeper myself, and this is where the 6 Degrees falls short. I do pride myself that if I can help some one I will, no reciprocation necessary, I have been helped tremendously all over the planet by people who have asked nothing of me but just wanted to help me because they could, and I like to follow that line of thought too, and do so to the best of my ability. I like to think that I am cool and level headed and have been through some dire situations been kidnapped, shot at, been on my own in deserts and jungles and still been able to smile and come through each event. But for some reason there are certain types of people at networking events that really raise my blood pressure. And yes I realise it could just be me that finds such events the way they are but it's all very real and at times not only frustrating but a wasted event, coming home with dozens of business cards I never look through ever again.

The human being is such a simple yet complex creature and those seeking are often those who are the most needy and thus formulate an agenda that overtakes their humanitarian instincts and clouds their judgement and that camaraderie of mind, body and soul. The warmth they have is on elastic and whilst openly looks and feels sincere the moment you turn your head it flies back as you are of no use to them. It's not that you can always reciprocate help to those that give you saged advice or knowledge as they may not need what you have got, but it's a matter of instant trust and feel, and if you just don't like someone for whatever reason the chances are you are not going to help them or give them your contact to your best friend or long established business contact that they need because it doesn't rest well within. One thing for sure is that if we don't give we are not going to receive, it will all eventually peter out and we will become so used to being smug that we will live in a concocted world of our own making. To be successful we need others as they need us, we can't be successful just on our own it takes others to both implement what we do and eventually buy our products or services. Our attitude is everything it is our "shop window" to successful contacts and conduits and breaking barriers and getting past the "gatekeepers", but unfortunately for many it's tainted too much about the 'self' and at that point everyone loses interest.

SHOWING YOUR EMOTIONS

We are by default sentient human beings although I think some will throw that in question, never the less it's a mark of a superior being. As a race we are marvellous people, it's only the trappings and conditions that tend to thwart our real ability to grow such as those in the third world and the dearth of religions that restrict life and cause repression as opposed to praising their God and allowing growth. They all suffer who believe in fear and restriction as can be seen by their backwardness in life and the way they have to rely on others to develop what they find incapable of doing themselves. Our emotions are one of the prominent aspects of our lives, we move throughout the whole of our life via an emotional wave, some days it's relatively calm others it's vibrant in every way. It's these which give us our feelings and in turn we feed off of these feelings and react according to how we deem it is expedient. We have within us free will and therefore we have negative emotions too such as envy, greed, jealousy, selfishness, anger, arrogance, etc, and these in turn are linked to how we feel as a person. If we are relatively secure in life then we get on quite well and cope where we have to. If we are not so secure then we readily pick up the negative emotions and feel moody, angry, jealous, etc, and start to use these emotions to our benefit - or so called benefit - to try and get our own way. It's called emotional blackmail and it's the lowest of levels one can almost stoop to. Where people feign tears in order to gain sympathy, be moody in order to try and get their own way and so on. Keep well away from such people and don't ever pamper to their debased thoughts

Many a young "thug" type of person has difficulty in showing emotion, it's almost a "sissy" thing to feel upset, angry yes, but upset or loving - forget it. This misplaced understanding results in a life of trials and tribulations and dares and a whole host of random stupidity, when deep down the onset of real love from anyone that cares is what is most needed. After all with real love - unconditional love - hurt and upset and anger don't come into the equations (back to why some religions are always killing and getting upset - evil doctrines). Governments are useless at such things as their agendas are power based and so when it comes down to emotional remedies they are also thuggish and impotent even if they pretend to understand. Of course societies and cultures play a big part in how we grow up and deal with life, some cultures are fiery and emotionally volatile whilst others are more controlled and think before they act. Some of the Eastern cultures are the worst in that they make a Hollywood drama out of anything as a means for others to help them, women there do this exceptionally well, it's all conditioning and religion and is a real far cry from living and life as it should be as it's always an Achilles heal for them. Then we get to the other extremes where manufactured effect is almost de regeur such as the real Hollywood awards where speeches almost turn your stomach over with the whet diatribe they come out with.

People react to others emotions, we are judged by them, but it doesn't mean that someone who goes ape like has more feeling than someone who remains calm and stands their ground, it's often the latter that has more compassion and less theatrical selfishness. There is a time and a place and what the outward signs are don't always reflect the inner state. We tend to veer towards those that share our emotional position in life, it makes us feel more secure and in control and enables a more stable stance in life regardless of whatever happens. We can all cry with tears of joy or sadness a development of extreme emotion in both cases, some are more susceptible than others, and there's no detriment to ANYONE who sheds a tear, it's a natural part of yourself and something that one should never be ashamed of. However back to the "thug" scenario, the personal shame of being emotional or selectively emotional, whereas if they were real stable solid humans they would just be themselves and not live behind a facade that's unreal and designed to repress, a state of human failure. We can more often than not even with someone we don't know see through feigned emotions or those who enhance their joy or grief to effect self notice, selfishness has no limits and we can feel within those who are genuine and those who 'put it on', the emotional vampires always seeking others energy. It's good to show emotions as it's good to look good, it reflects who you are and the sincerity of who you are too. Never emulate others, don't cry at a funeral if you can't, don't laugh if you don't think it's funny, but do either if appropriate as and when it affects you, you're not on trial nor do you need approval or acceptance from anyone. Be yourself and allow the inner you to blossom.

DO OR DIE

You have two choices in life you do or you don't, that accounts for our almost binary coding for decision making, do we or don't we, either way has repercussions and sometimes the 'ripple effect' takes over from such decisions, other times the backlash is minimal and fades into insignificance. Procrastinating veers on the side of NO we don't but it's a bit of a cowardly way out allowing circumstances to take control and then blaming everything and everyone that things aren't as they should be. Today our whole lives and what is around us is changing like never before, well it couldn't change before like it is now because we have never had technology developed to this extent and in ten years time what we have now will literally pale into insignificance. But what is changing and has nothing to do with technology to a large extent it is the human stance in life, and that has market repercussions. There is more corporate greed, dishonesty, subterfuge, deceit than ever before and this is across all sectors, aviation, banking, food stuffs, hardware, local authorities, you name it. And it doesn't stop there the deceit ravages politicians and on a global scale too, plus the underhanded deals and insider information and the proliferation of the rest. All this is not new to Africa and the Middle East where deceit and greed are part of the "rulers" way of life literally, why, because they can do it and get away with it, so it's almost cultural, and where life outside of this is viewed as cheap.

It won't be long now before we have real oil shortages, already there is a physical decline in output because the current massive reserves are past their peak and the development of alternative supplies of fuel are coming on stream faster than anticipated which is due to the hike in oil prices makes now alternatives competitive which not long ago there were not. Once the real dependence on oil starts to wane then the fun begins and the disruption to the Middle East and some African countries will bring home the fact that outside of this commodity which just happens to be there, it's not a technical creation of their own doing, they have absolutely nothing left to offer nor to support themselves. Public unrest world wide is the highest it has ever been and much of this has been caused by whichever party is governing not taking "real" notice of the low ebb reverberation throbbing all around them, so used are they to the old and traditional ways of governing, i.e. "what we say goes" but now finding it not happening. Unrest and mayhem will be something that is more common, not so much strikes but demonstrations pertaining to humanity and how people live and the aloof and pathetic governance of what makes people 'happy' or 'unhappy' as a nation.

Politicians talk the talk only based upon what consultants have fed them and what brief they have read, outside of that many are clueless and staid in their outlook and literally how people commune, work, mingle and access each other via the various strata's in which they live. Statesmen are nearly a thing of the past and global sparring and bickering is bland and dull and does very little for those on home turf. Giving away funds to look good on the international platform for health and education then charging your own people vastly increased tuition fees and giving reduced medical services isn't smart and goes towards the "unhappiness" of a nation greatly, lost in respect and is a part of the mayhem to follow. You wouldn't do this at home so why  do it elsewhere. Like a volcano public pressure builds up until it's released, then the politicians make out they were going to change all along and the opposition say similar stuff but all tell lies to cover their ineptitude, smugness, stupidity and ideas in a world that only they live within. Where National security whilst important has turned into an industry of the paranoid, where once proud nations are frightened of their own shadows. Our choices for a better life are ours via our votes, our actions, our deeds, our works, etc, sitting back is not a positive decision.

WHEN THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL GOES OUT

What happens when your future is stymied right in front of you, when hope turns into a nothingness, when the glimmer of something on the horizon just fades out of view, when within your mind you just sit and stare at the endless swurming of nothingness that's all around you. When the excitement of anything has lost its sparkle and searching for the smallest thing to try and bring a feeling of possibility has completely vanished and the mind is on a life support system that keeps functions going but not much more. Where living in a mind coma is the nearest explanation one can get to an understanding of surviving with intangible thoughts exhausted and mind control depleted. Well this doest happen no matter what you feel or how close you may be able to empathise with any of it as it's all a state of mind. Frustrations and disappointments do happen and they seem to arrive like buses all together then there are none for quite a while, but that doesn't solve nor explain anything, things are what they are and we need to understand the 'bigger picture' in life for if we dwell in our own microcosm we will forever be at the mercy of negativity, insularity and loss.

Our mental state is largely down to ourselves and whilst we all differ in abilities, intelligence, education, common sense, etc, no one can change our thoughts but ourselves, even if others try and persuade us by reason and example. When either as an individual or a nation loses sight of hope and better things then there sets in a mind shift which is neither wholesome or stable, it's a lowness which generates, fosters and creates subliminal structures of a negative nature which affect everyone, some being more pervious to the effects than others. Where a state of lowness resides unrest, insurrection, mayhem, violence, treachery, deceit, corruption thrives as all these need ideal conditions to take root, and where all that is good and hopeful isn't all that is the the opposite will flourish. Politicians rarely make the best people to dictate terms even if they are spot on with their understanding of the situation. They tend to broadly speak in terms of "we" and "us" as a colloquial diktat that hopefully encompasses and engages all, sadly it doesn't as they haven't that ability to be genuine in delivery nor do they understand and efficiently empathise with degrees of sincerity that would create an ease within the turbulence that is to come. Cold rhetoric is becoming more common and more frequent and the backlash to this is the exact opposite of what is needed. Ineptitude has no boundaries nor parameters as it exists anywhere where there isn't a firm cohesion of thought, implication, understanding and deed.

Life goes around in cycles as does current opinion and current thought by default has a 'shelf life' then dies a death, it is something that the overall population take on board without too much thought because it appears that it's all a consensus of opinion, little do they realise it isn't and that they are creating that opinion anyway, hence negativity spreads via a viral route. Good things can spread via a viral route too but not that often because if goodness is an intrinsic part of the self there's little impetus to go further, if it's good it's good. Where bad or not so good things happen as we see quite often today it's because individuals have been motivated into doing and saying things quite often that they have never done nor said before. Viral understanding and getting a "litmus" test of life is going to become more prevalent and make the press even less useful as they only embellish stories to try and create gravitas whereas they are all a few steps behind the reality of any situation especially where it's all punctuated by studio conjecture by the same old cronies who spoke about it last time and the time before and got it wrong then too.

We all have to "see the light" at some point in life some more than others, never the less without a degree of real hope the future would permanently look bleak. Everything has limitations and when our time comes to excel it will, wishing it would come sooner than later is futile even if we create our own destiny or think we do. We need to isolate ourselves from what's around us and conditions for if we don't we will by default be controlled by them. It doesn't mean that we can't be mindful of what our environment local and global consists of but within all of these there are always opportunities for us to excel. Keeping our own council is of paramount importance and not entering into mundane banter about what we can't change nor are privy to in great detail, headline news is just that nothing more. Our emotions create our lives for it's how we feel strongly or not that guides us in whatever direction we feel fit or perhaps just rest on our laurels and do nothing. For some it's not a case of finding the light at the end of the tunnel, it's actually finding the tunnel and understanding that tunnels aren't always straight so we need to go down it turn a few times then the light is there, it's not linear. It's linear thinking that stops many from doing well and getting despondent, when all along they are perhaps just a hairs breadth away from great success.

MOVING ON

Our lives comprise of a series of defined areas where we ourselves strive or aim to get to, many of them we succeed, and some are areas where life does its own thing and we end up as recipients of circumstances and weird situations at times also. It happens to everyone and there are no favourites nor prisoners taken in the process. We are as individuals entities of our own making, that is our minds are ours from day one until the day we die, and once we reach our teens we are basically 'on our own' as far as how we think via our individuality and where our perceptions of life are concerned. We can be well educated and stupid or we can be far less educated and very wise, neither wisdom nor stupidity are linked to education we need a modicum of each to go forward. Many is the time that creativity is born out of little education but the wisdom has allowed others to take over and uphold what the originator lacks, everything in its place. You can also end up as very well educated and become a television expert that talks a load of rubbish and gets it all wrong as what they think or surmise is basically based upon here say. The fluidity of life today especially with social networking and viral growth has almost eliminated extrapolations and the unexpected is now the expected.

Whether we like it or not we move on, life evolves and we get taken with it lock stock and barrel it's only when we decide to do something of our own volition that we can define more succinctly a future for ourselves and where we would like to be placed, even if it's a constant striving of modifications en-route. There is but one guarantee in life and that's death and here lies a whole load of conjecture as to the after life or the 'that's your lot' theory, options are always open. But whilst we are alive we need to do the best we can and that takes a great deal of personal dexterity in order to at least respect whom we are as individuals and be selective who we allow into our lives on our journey. Our sentient capability gives us feelings and a a purpose to keep going even if some don't exactly know why or possibly care, but it takes all sorts to make a world. Our progress encompasses many hurdles and also many joys too which we must never ever overlook by dwelling upon what wasn't that exciting as it will quell our focus and stymie our ability to proficiently enjoy tomorrow and the day after.

Countries move onwards but not neccessarily to better things, business move on and close down, areas move on and get demolished, and moving on doesn't automatically denote better, although in most cases the striving force is for better even if the end product is the opposite. Moving on at times is more of a metamorphasis in that what one moves on to bears no resemblance to the past or what was originally envisaged, it's therefor impertaive that one has an open mind to allow drastic yet far better changes take place than to hold on to the past and wollow in the detritus of redundant life being regurgitated for the sake of it. It's sometimers leaving our comfort zone that is the achiles heal and we dare not make those needed moves so life literally grates as it fights with potential and throws up an unstable present that has little if nothing to offer. Life can be good or it can be resilient and keep us firmly placed to where we are, we have the ability to change even if a little, and don't forget it takes a small pin to burst a big balloon. Similarly any small changes we make can have positive changes that we can enjoy ahead of us.

TOUCHING A NERVE

Even the most hardy types have somewhere deep within themselves a "touchy spot" where they don't like to venture too far or discuss whatever it is. It's not that it brings us down or into a perplexed state it's just that it tends to have a short cut towards making us feel slightly uneasy and maybe recalls something of our past or attributes that we would rather dismiss than dwell upon. But it is these areas within and those of others that can be our 'best friend' when it comes to debate or to finding the truth within others as such areas of 'sensitivity' manifest themselves in the answers or questions we putt out. We can see almost daily politicians being "economical" with the truth, skimming over areas, lightly defining others, delving into stuff which is safe fodder, highlighting topics yet to be put into practise, all to make political rhetoric that's slightly disingenuous not necessarily a pack of lies but avoiding the real 'nitty gritty'. The media is exactly the same, highlighting negative potential as if whatever has happened could be a new plague or vast devastation whereas it's all nothing of the sort. It's playing with our emotions it's a skill but it's also the fact of someone weak and not able to speak stuff as it were.

Everything today has a 'touch of spin' to it, the banks have of recent date been the biggest corporate deceivers causing global unrest and harm to millions of people by their underhanded deals, where pure greed has overtaken the pawns of the population in their own personal desire for more, leaving many in the wake bereft of a living and and financial support or income. Where much of health care is financially based where if you have a credit card 'we'll save your life' if not, next. Within every household there are skeletons and areas where we just don't touch or talk about, it's inevitable as a race we make mistakes some silly, some stupid, some out of ignorance and some out of desperation, life is full of such things. Touching a nerve is part of whom we are as a race of people our own sensitivities lies ahead of us not in the past, if we are ashamed or embarrassed or unnerved about incidents or situations we shouldn't be, it's easier said than done, but our whole life is literally ahead of us and we are not predominantly what we were , we are a product of now.

Honesty that rare commodity even in religious circles is often so biased and convoluted that what is said actually becomes a stance of personal conjecture rather than what it should be as an open and factual statement not some laundered speak which is why many people lose credibility. Credibility gaps are at an all time low as conversations seem to be "designer driven" which often eliminates both honesty and sincerity and few have the guts, charisma, metal, verve and ability to say what they think, which doesn't mean being rude either. Communicating with others is more than an art it's a necessity and if we are to enjoy the fullness of life both within our families and friends and not harbour ill feeling, resentment, fear, bottled up or pen up emotions then we should get it out in the open and have done with it. Of course that basic of basics love should be firmly in place for that can withstand everything it's when we apportion our version - conditional love - that it all starts to fall apart, then we wonder why, STOP WONDERING you've just created the base for negativity yourself. And if you really think something shouldn't be said then don't say it, but be at peace with that thought and let it lie dormant, not as a perpetual mind thought that keeps churning within.

MY LIFE - LET ME LIVE IT

We all like to think we are free, then when it suites us we make up stories about why we can't be or because of restrictions or circumstances, but that's a mixture of fear and apathy creeping in to our controlled version of reality. It is a controlled version as we model everything around our ability and not wanting really to venture too far if at all from our 'comfort zone'. It's nice to hold the thought that everything is available to us but we don't really want to venture down the route to get it as it's for most people a step too far. Freedom is relative,  there is always a latitude in freedom and what upsets the apple cart is that of fear itself, in that of allowing others to take control of their lives without being fettered to bureaucracy. i.e. you need permission to do almost anything. It's why the West has ventured further than most countries in terms of technology and creativity and left other areas of the world such as Africa and the Middle East at the bottom of the leagues in terms of innovation and what they give to society. Two extremes one area with relative wealth and the other with relative poverty and between them they contribute nothing as compared to other continents, so engrossed are they in bribery, corruption, bureaucracy, red tape, ministerial / official palm crossing, and so on and so forth. Even in China and India corruption is the biggest culprit to substandard lives and failure more than anything else.

However, where there is a will there is a way, we see around us shops, products, services all created by individuals outside of the major conglomerates. There is within society something that is nearly always sadly lacking in government, entrepreneurial thought. The ability to 'see' without being dragged down into the darkness by that awful word 'politics'. The ability to live life to the full and see values, see needs, see opportunities, and see progress of real value. It's not that governments don't in some areas do a bad job but they are predominantly staffed by inefficient plodders who are at times overburdened with red tape and age old lackadaisical hierarchy that's very very expensive, slow and diffident. The interface between commerce and government at times is like a tsunami itself, where the politicians and bureaucrats feel part of a plan but never be part of it as everything is transient and at times there is more of a collective ownership rather than that of a real leadership lead status.

But even in oppressive countries and religiously controlled countries there remains a degree of freedom, it lies in the underground, it lies in global communication, it lies in leaving the countries for overseas shores which many do, freedom cannot be quashed even when vast amounts of money are needlessly wasted in trying to control freedom and democracy. Nothing that man ever does is without fault, it's impossible as man is by default a creature of faults. But within it all lies that camaraderie of soul and love that makes it all work. Man is a love based creature, take away love and you have a robot or drone, even though a few buck the system for self greed and power the vast majority still subscribe to love for without it even the most creative thinker becomes unstable, as love binds our values and purpose together.

Families and at times educational establishments can actually demote your abilities based purely on their own negativity and personal lack of foresight and some notable examples of people being told when young they would amount to nothing have indeed proved the opposite. So it's very important to follow your own pathway in life and not ramble on aimlessly to those who subscribe to lower aspirations than yourself. Life has a habit of showing you the pathway forward but only if you meet it half way and not from a hypothetical stance but real action and deed. Don't falsely blame what others say about you, or don't falsely blame society or the people around you for being stupid or narrow minded. If you want to break the mould you will by default upset the dull miserable thinkers around you including perhaps your parents that want you to conform for their sake not yours (conditional love syndrome). As soon as success starts to rear its head all will change, but you will be not only wiser but light years ahead in the knowledge of the bigger picture and will see freedom shining through all the cracks that the bureaucrats can't see because of their blindness in seeing beyond tomorrow which is fear based, dark and nothing more.

OVERCOMING ANYTHING

Whatever you think or whatever you apportion to your circumstances or upbringing or race or religion it all boils down to you, you are the one who decides who you are and what you are and not others. It's you who walks in your shoes, it's you who eats sleeps and drinks in your skin, and at the end of the day this happens literally until you die, it's you who is the person who is laid to rest, no one else can ever do that.  The real truth is that if you think you can't you probably won't because you are stacking all the odds against yourself, and if you think you can you have every possibility of doing so. And if you have a chip on your shoulder you'll forever have problems in your life, forever. If for one moment you ever bring yourself down or compare yourself to people of a lesser disposition or lowness then that's by default your Achilles heal that is going to tether yourself to being a lower common denominator within what hope you ever have, even if it's said in jest. Where the mind goes the body follows so it if failure is somewhere amongst your thoughts as a base parameter then that's what is going to be the default thought especially when times get tough or great decisions have to be made. Whatever help or opportunities come your way it's you who will make or break them, it's you who will enjoy the energy of opportunity that exists or turn it in to fear, it's the same energy  it's purely down to how it's used or transmuted. Like Uranium you either make a bomb and blow yourself up or harness it to make nuclear electricity.

Success is not listening to the throng of backseat commentators, it's keeping your own council and surrounding yourself with positively minded people. It's getting into the habit if it's not a natural occurrence to talking positive and not seeing life as 'me and them' as that will further segregate your thoughts as to climbing higher up the ladder. Being reclusive will only furthermore reduce life to something that is lived within the mind and not in the world itself, sharing energy of a positive nature and elevating conversations will introduce conduits and knowledge to further enhance life and give it a strength that otherwise would be missing. It's important to see others 'breaking the mould' as that is an impetus to the self to follow suite in your respective field. Magic wands don't exist, I've looked, but all around us at least for the positively minded are those who know those vital bits of information that we need to 'get on. And what's more (this is the good news) is that if you come across them they will because they will recognise your verve and stealth help you by imparting or assisting your progress. It's their purpose but the key to such people is pure and unadulterated 'positivity' nothing more nothing less, they don't want to hear about past failures they want to know about future success as that's where they want to help you strive to. And for those who are saying "Well I've never met anyone like that" just think that by saying that it's an attitude that already has streaks or self negativity and even arrogance built in. People come across what you do at certain times in life, they do so because what you have already done has planted a root that is now germinating, even if its taken years. Keeping an open mind on your subject opens up many doors and like everything else when the time is right even unbeknown to you or your project / style it all  may need modification to bear fruit, something that might initially go against the grain, but think hard as this could be the one thing that zooms you to success. There's nothing like being staid and unyielding to find success was turned into failure because of ego.

The road to success can be lonely, it can be very isolated and it can be disconcerting at times, but if what you want is that strong it can also be exciting and wondrous and prove incredibly fruitful both emotionally and financially too. Overcoming is a mental concept it's not looking at obstacles and barriers they don't exist, success is finding ways around them all and separates the leaders from the followers. As success nears the road gets narrower then it just opens up to show that wondrous view ahead, and then starts yet another journey, a slightly different one never the less a journey of differing proportions but one which can elevate your thoughts and deeds to levels beyond your previous comprehension. Sometimes we strive at things because of our narrowness of heart and mind, just to try and make something succeed for sheer spite, but from a bigger picture the greater good should always be of paramount importance. Building the house is better than mentally decorating it before it reaches completion. So many people fail because of their narrowness or blinkered attitude, and self indulgent lowness, wallowing in a pity that's akin to losing before you start. If you feel low then your approach and even writing skills will enhance that for others to subliminally pick up. A smile both internally and externally opens up endless possibilities, it shows whatever you are going through that you are not going to be beaten or be put down no matter what. Success is that close as it starts from within.

LOST IN THE CROWD

In the very same world there is a dichotomy of individualism, there's the advanced world where you can be what or who you want, the only thing stopping you be that person is yourself and your inhibitions, so if that's the case you aren't really that serious. Then there's the backward world, Africa, the Middle East, some Eastern European countries and a few elsewhere dotted around the planet where their rancid outmoded cultures and ideologies almost forbid people to be different such is the narrowness of either their respective governments or the people, and it's usually a mixture of both. This narrowness shows up in the fact that such countries never contribute to society they are always takers and have excuses by the volume as to why they are like that, much of it historical. But when individualism is stifled then is there any wonder progress in real terms is never made. But nothing is at it appears, what is seen on the surface is rarely seen below, and what we perceive from afar is nothing as to how it is first hand.

Similarly one doesn't have to venture far today to find a plethora of people who are lost, isolated, confused, dejected and wandering aimlessly in their minds for some degree of solace and understanding as to what their lives mean. It's not that eternal question "the meaning of life" but just them at a stargate point and not really engaging with life even after reading a stream of books with answers on everything. So good are these books depicting aspects of life they are all best sellers and being taught in the curricula of schools world wide, one thinks not. The solution to the restful mind is more about oneself than what's around us. It's often down to the thought processes of the individual not conforming to the overall dullness of those who accept life as it is and have no desire to do anything other than what they do. Not that there is anything wrong with that, it's their choice to some degree, but it does ponder the question as to where at times one fits in and that can include family, friends and those who one works with. It's not self alienation but an internal frustration that's impervious to pep talks and light conversation, it needs quenching with substantiated information that has real substance and not that manufactured by the media  which is impotent in content and has nothing to do with ultimate progress.

Society talks on different levels and its meaning is not always what it says. There are the proverbial "out of the box" thinkers, then there are those a few rungs down the ladder and that followed by those towards the lower end. All have a place in life and society and all have their individual problems which surprisingly are very similar in context even if some are slightly more grand or less so. The feeling of isolation of life not melding with oneself is not uncommon and discord within is the result which then escalates the situation. Unless one is very much an individual and most people like to think they are, and they are to some extent, but not so different from the throng which doesn't isolate them, they isolate themselves not quite knowing what to do. Deep thinkers can find life lonely at times and at other times quite exhilarating, a significant partner helps many although it's also not ideal for a few as their self instability is something they eternally struggle with.

For every feeling we have there is not only a solution there is a cause istelf and often what makes the feeling is something that is not resonating well within us that has nothing or little to do with what we are perceiving. The outward effect has a bearing on how we are living and enjoying life, because if that's out of kilter or some areas are not harmoious then they will be magnified by those areas we want to flourish in but just don't. The homogenous aspects of life can't be emphasised enough and those feelings that 'if this' or 'that' were OK so would everything else, not so. We often place something on the back burner  because it doesn't appear at large to be the culprit, yet most likely it is, it's just us looking for some self technical terms to latch on to to try and satify what's going on within then feel smug that we know and then eventually hope it will all be OK. We do have however that great ability to break out of ourselves and join the 'party' without jeapodising our thoughts and feelings and future plans, for if we do 'join the party' we elevate ourselves out of the regurgitating doldrums and see a lighter aspect to our thoughts, something that we overlooked by incriminating ourselves and that we should never ever do.

FIGHTING IN THE MIND

Many people today are finding that it's becoming more difficult living in their own skin than actually living as a person in the society in which they reside. Our lives are speeding up and more and more people are seemingly swimming with the tide regardless of where it's flowing to. There seems a section of society that is almost out of touch with life and are robtically just living in the 'designer' lead forum listening to hyped disingenuous news, following worthless people, and cocooned in an aura of diatribe themselves, almost having abdicated self thought for that of the mass group thinking policy. It's true that life and the world is increasing in terms of evolutionary growth, where for many years it just trundled along at an almost sedentary pace, whereas now it's heating up the pot and we are as a race on planet earth trying to find a more comfortable position.

Global warming, emission controls, disingenuous trading in carbon, and governmental regulations will not affect planet earth as it will survive no matter what we do, after all it's been through worse times and come out shining. We as a race have only just been here a short while and are getting a little concerned about our well being, well not everyone, but most. Our minds are capable of much more than we allow them yet at the same time some areas of society rarely use their minds at all, and repressive countries have so indoctrinated their populous with "religious diatribe" that they are incapable of becoming stable both as a race of people and a country which houses such people, which is evident today. If our mental situation is flawed then there is little hope for society at large, tablets and shrinks aren't the answer to self control, they are the fall out default situation for the many that lose the plot not through medical conditions but a lack of their own self governance and ability.

Schools and educational establishments rarely teach anything pertaining to common sense, manners, communicational skills and wherever there is a smidgen of "political correctness" there is a definite fall in progress and an increase in instability. Fickle children taught by fickle teachers who have a list of "can't do can't say" more than "can do" and "can say" is but repressing children who find common sense is an area almost missing in their lives. And where mass immigration from illiterate or backward societies has in reality held back what once was an almost overwhelming increase in knowledge. Where celebrating diversity has eliminated a 'oneness' and people are feeling almost fragmented and disjointed and separated rather than feeling part of a unity, such are the pathetic brainless and narrow psychopaths that have illusion of life known only unto themselves and know nothing of life local or global yet dictate it to be taught on to others.

But even with those of an older nature and in their late 20's or 30's and indeed older their is a dearth of mental froughntness that they find life hard to comprehend and get to grips with. Where real free thinkers and those that have free thought are almost left out in the cold as the "zombies" that are left absorb the flotsam and jetsam of fabricated life and then wonder why everything is so difficult. Governments are adding to the national unhappiness factor as opposed to rectifying it because they too are of the populous zombie mentality and designer personal greed. Everyone wants to be smart, to make a difference but only if they are part of the picture themselves and receive appropriate kudos for it, such is their conditional philanthropic mentality. Governments are weak, they dare not throw down any gauntlets and so they reside forever in a cloud of PR Rhetoric and nothing more. The European Government are corrupt and have syphoned off £4bn in funds for their own enjoyment which they cannot account for and some sanction chauffeurs for their pets at the public expense.

Where the legal system in the UK was once a shining example of fair play, it's now just "play"  and is so out of touch and unfair and incredibly grossly expensive and slow which is how they like it as it's milking the system for the system itself. Where illegal immigrants get more money than pensioners, where victims are viewed as the cause for the aggressor who gets rights and better treatment. And where rights are given to those who take the rights of the everyday citizen away, if you go against society your rights should be automatically removed. Where many overseas countries don't even have a decent legal system, it's there just for show and for their own government to use at their discretion to lock up whom they like just because someone says something against them.

Mental health is linked to faith in society. Africa is totally corrupt the Middle East is totally corrupt and mentally unstable, Asia is emerging yet it has its corrupt "Nouveaux riches" governments. Pakistan is a hell hole and Godless society full of deceit and negativity and lovelessness as is Afghanistan and its poncy leader, and even in the USA where greed is now God at all costs as is paranoia about security. And Europe where many of the populous of the Eastern European states are littering the Western European jails. And failed European countries are where they are because of incompetent governments as opposed to conditional situations. There is no area of the world immune from it's own deceit and divisive ploys including China, Russia and South America too, where all is carried out by the few and endured by the many. Keeping ones mental solace is a prime function as that is what at the very end is going to keep one afloat and actually live through it all and come out shining, smiling and impervious the those who take it all in, panic and suffer.

BEING ADULT ABOUT LIFE

So many arguments are caused by juvenile thoughts and pure selfish feelings. The majority of relationship breakdowns are because of selfishness more than anything else oh, and of course a real lack of true love. We talk about love quite a lot there are films and TV programmes splattered all around us about love stories usually those that go wrong as hysterical drama can be interjected in to it. Happy endings rarely move an audience even if a few tears are shed towards the end. Do we know what real love is all about once the initial infatuation calms down and life starts to wash away the clouds of bliss as the odd storm brews up in the distance? Do we look differently at our partner and think they could be better or do better or that we haven't after all that much in common for the long run?  Of course these are failings in us and our ego and our attitude and our self esteem and the self itself, it's usually about our own self that we let ourselves down terribly with, not someone else, although we don't usually like to admit it. Our temperament can be up and down like a yo-yo and thus we have mood swings that reflect that up and down feeling as we tend to let everyone know for that subliminal cry for attention to try and zest things up again. It rarely works as after a while everyone knows you for who and what you are, which doesn't mean you are a bad person nor anything else, just dull and predictive. We can also be forever analytical which then removes much of what life is all about as we tend then to miss the crux of what it really all means and the nuances that can't easily be categorised.

Alternatively we can can be one of those self created morons that is politically correct, and there is no legislation pertaining to such so it's a self made stance which means you are dancing on dangerous ground as it's all based upon your perception not the reality of others. If you harbour political correctness as a means of moving forward the chances are you won't, as you'll forever be frightened to speak your mind or allow others to do the same so nothing predominantly happens. It's often a failure mentality and depicts one of lesser strength, if others get upset then let them deal with it, it's not for to you offer yourself as some self proclaimed bastion of society that no one wants and in the process holding everyone back. Understanding the bigger picture is always a good thing yet few ever do they never rise to that thought process yet then wonder why they are forever in the doldrums seeing life as an obstacle in itself and not fair and wallowing in the detritus because they can never seem to float to the surface.

Selfishness is a pre-cursor to many problems in life, loneliness, lack of relationships and commitment, mental instability, distrust, unhappiness, warped thoughts, self denial, fear of spending too much time with others - no matter how close they may be. Zealously enhanced distance relationships via email, Facebook, Twitter or other social media platform, quirkiness, fragmented life, etc, it's all to do with an almost pivotless sense of me, me and of course me. We have options and choices so we take the route that we think is applicable to us, rightly or wrongly who knows. Nothing is without consequences good or not so good, and in the overall view it matters not to others as it's our own personal life and we migrate towards those that share our view and personality even if it is from afar and see only small chunks we empathise with. Actually living in close proximity with our distant contacts could lead to everything we like about someone come toppling down in an instant such is our cultivated relationship that even if deeply motivated and concurrent on many topics is never the less fragile in context.

Understanding ourselves and not trying to think another way over the reality of whom we are makes for a greater understanding and a degree of increased happiness as we know why things are as they are and not ponder upon such variables then wonder why, again brushing over on the reality side of events. Our "love walk" should see us through, for where our "love walk" is evident so is that little voice telling us what is right or not so, and yes we do have "override" we can latch on to, but override is just that and it's tantamount to to lying to ourselves, which is the last thing we should do. We can hypothesise until the day we die yet it won't change the truth even if we don't really want to believe there is one. We can try and be another Peter Pan and pretend that we are not getting older and that life in the main is for others, but it isn't, we are part of getting old and life does zoom by even if our Dorian Grey attitude temporarily makes us feel better. At some stage everything comes home to roost and at some stage we look upon life and not see what we have done but where are we now, for that is where we live and breath.

WHEN FAILURE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND

For many people the word failure sends a shudder down their spine, it brings a cold and embarrassing chill to what they have to say. Yet failure is a natural part of life, it's a part that makes us strong, resilient and above all successful too. Every day scientists and researchers fail in trying to find a solution or a cure, eventually they find an answer that works. The telephone, light bulb, penicillin, cancer drugs, the aero engine, even none stick frying pans all emanated after years of constant failure. So why are so many fickle people so frightened of the word or judge others who try and fail yet they themselves sit smugly doing nothing so not to fail?  Why is it that the "gatekeepers" (who are the real failures) the secretaries / HR / the employment agencies so fearful and reticent about it all that their own insecurities and sheer ignorance holds up the free flow of real talent that's out there and allows mediocre people to get jobs that produce mediocre results. The dearth of lowly intelligent management who whilst may be acceptable at what they do have no foresight and are far too fearful of employing anyone who would shake their own position.

Applying vision to someone who hasn't any is always a problem and even successful organisations are staffed by those who again may effectively do what they have to do well but in the process stifle what could have been or might have been far better had creativity been allowed to enter into the scenario. Short sightedness, tempered outlooks, lack of real vision, fearful of breaking the mould, employing the "if it's not broken don't fix it" mentality, all of which is totally wrong. Staid, dull, monolithic structures, bureaucracy which is always run by dull people, and so it goes on. Many major companies pride themselves on units or adjuncts where they employ people who supposedly "think out of the box" and some are brilliant yet the majority are just mildly creative which flatters those that take them on and falls short of what real "out there thinking" contains. Real "out of the box" thinking often comes in packages that most couldn't recognise if it was stamped  "out of the box thinking" on the outside of it.

Learning is a series of failures for if everything went correctly when something goes wrong we wouldn't have a clue as to what to do or indeed do not act efficiently in rectifying it all. Even in accidents we find out why the cause happened and take steps to help identify and reduce the situation happening again. Those that never try because they are frightened of failing are dull and produce nothing of value, our skills and mind sets help others not go down the same pathways and if we keep failure to ourselves and not share the experiences then it says a lot about us and what insular and mean people we are. Granted there are times when failure can be more than embarrassing, it can cause loss of life, mayhem, turmoil, etc, but that is literally a part of life and something we must face up to and not shy away from, nor listen to the throng of people on the side-lines casting aspersions and shouting, for such people are the fodder of real failure and are of worthless content trying to make themselves feel important whereas they are of no consequence in life at all.

Those that have had a whole heap of dead ends, things that have not gone well or worked out, things that have met with high resistance, things that others cannot get to grips with and things that have on the outside seemingly failed are always those that in the end do well. They overcome the dull and pathetic and pseudo intellectuals who have no creativity just the ability to churn over in their mind potentials and possibilities yet it never really works out. Interesting people, people who can laugh, enjoy life, people who are stable are those who have endured, entertained difference, pressed on ahead in dark corridors, gone ahead where others have dithered, had a go, put their heart and soul into it all and just dared to be themselves and not be influenced or clouded by the mass dullness of everyone else. If you can't entertain failure you can't entertain life.

THE ENERGY WITHIN

Life comes in cycles, however each cycle is quite different in that the substance of life in between the last cycle has changed considerably more so now as technology is coming on leaps and bounds even in just the space of a year. We look back and laugh at the 60's and what people wore and the technology, similarly the 70's and 80's and now it's all of a melding of retro and futuristic mixed with nostalgia and tradition all stirred together in a pot of life to produce items and experiences to hopefully elevate our lives. It's this surge of advancement that has left so many people bereft of love, understanding and potential for the future. It's this homogenising of society and within it a breakdown never experienced before of terrorism, which is predominantly Islamic, cultural breakdown, politically correct stupidity, and an unease with young people as to what life is all about causing unrest and for the less intelligent street gangs.

One can see especially on the Internet that there are springing up a whole plethora of groups / individuals / organisations / societies that are keen to put us in touch with our 'higher selves', whatever that is, maybe it's something a bit kinky like a mirror on your bedroom ceiling so you can see yourself at a higher position, who knows? Whatever it is these people have no more connection with life or any other entity or energy than yourselves, even if they have a more calmer outlook, that's self control more than any divine power or knowledge, and there's nothing new here. There is a market however for relaxation and some companies actively engage in this, most are understandably city based as it costs money but never the less it's out there. The companies that indulge in office massage techniques by outside firms are very few and far between and overall it solves nothing, it's just putting a plaster on the problem. Whilst massage can be very beneficial it doesn't solve the root cause as to why everyone has gotten so hyper in the first place. But when finance and ignorance and PR come together, ineptitude is often the resultant and shows considerably as such.

There is without a doubt considerable energy around us both natural and man made. We all know of static electricity when we get a shock from touching something or our sweaters crackle at times when we take them off. Our mobile devices receive energy in the form of radio signals to make and receive our calls as does our sat nav, tv and a whole host of other things like our auto car lock, and TV controls, we just can't get away from it. And from recent disasters we know of high levels of radiation too that whilst we can't see it have devastating consequences especially over time with regards mutating our genes etc. So we need to be selective as to what we call up and try to access with all this "higher self" and "consciousness" and "spirituality", as there are many quacks and charlatans and weirdo's out there who have lost the plot before they have even started. Many on the weird scale from 1 - 10 have already hit the 8 mark if not some beyond 10.

There is also a satanic energy out there and that is very real and many have succumbed to it inadvertently in the search for "higher things" whatever that is to the individual. There are also many religions that are evil based and although they talk of love and goodness do no such thing when it comes to 'walking the walk', the followers never have good things from their God but endless misery and it shows mega-time. Everyone who believes is precious about their faith not wishing to understand that if it isn't real what's left, that's only something that they can come to terms with themselves or feel that what's currently on offer doesn't work but daren't change, it's back to fear again. Fear is the antithesis of love, but believing that is something else as so many are used to thinking fear.

It's not to say that many who go on courses to find their "higher self" don't get some benefit, we can all learn at any age, although many of the people who attend these courses are 30+ and single and predominantly female, but not exclusively. Loneliness and isolation and sadness and mild depression often get confused with the thought that life holds more but it just can't be accessed so therefore it must be of a "high energy" etc, which is rubbish. It's also that elusive feeling that there are 'secrets' out there that have the answers and accessing your "higher self" or whatever it is you want to access will bring one much closer to the reality of happiness. It won't ever, even if one enjoys the experience of learning and meeting like minded fellow lost souls to exchange views and aspects of getting older more cranky and still lonely, if nothing else it passes the time. Our own energy levels are directly related to whom we are as a person, so our physical and mental health are what we make them by and large. Going "overboard" is almost as bad as doing nothing in that we get out of one encumbrance and shift to another, so in the end we end up with a slightly different but contrite perspective that gets us no further or at least see that what we have done still hasn't quelled the inner pang for that illusive 'higher self' which you have already, but if you could actually access it - then what? You haven't a clue?

THE MIND GREMLINS 2

Isn’t it funny how fickle we are as human beings, our great strengths, courage, determination, our phlegm, our verve, our steadfastness, our resolve and all the other superlatives that we can think of, yet the moment something goes wrong, down it all comes crashing like a pack of cards. The endurance of the human being is legendary amongst the species of life forms that roam the earth, we’ve conquered, created, built, devised, produced and still behind that robust and elegant facade is ‘us’, the real ‘us’ the bit that thinks and feels and laughs and cries.

Our minds are what we fill them with but our minds are also filled with the thoughts of others most of which has nothing to do with us what so ever. We can even take on the mantle of sayings and feelings that our parents repeated to us when growing up, and some parents were not only negative but literally cruel in their ignorant delivery of what they said, or still say. These subliminal thoughts which lie within us can greatly affect who we are and how we get on in life. If we come from a strong positive family background then we tend to be that type of person, if we come from a weak and pathetic parental background then that’s how we will also tend to be, although we always have the option of breaking free, never make that an excuse, unless you are a parrot.

But regardless of whom we are and where we emanate from we are still whom we are in terms of how we are “hard wired” and the way we think and feel is always peculiar to ourselves. Our little foibles, idiosyncrasies, likes, dislikes, fears, phobias, aspirations, feelings, and all the little bits and pieces that makes us individuals in the grand order of life and humanity. Many people have a very “switchable” attitude in life in that when everything is going well they feel fabulous and that the world is a wonderful place and if you believe in God, that God is good and great, like when winning a race you thank God for that deed. Yet just as quickly when life takes a tumble and a turn for the worst everything becomes unfair, miserable, and unjust and God’s nowhere to be seen or worst case scenario thoughts reign in the “he wants us to go through” these things scenario, which is stupid. We can fool ourselves as long as we like but the bottom line in life is life is as it is and it’s full of contradictions and twists and turns and there are no guarantees or equalities nor fairness clauses other than what man has put into place himself, and that varies enormously all over the world, and is not that fair anyway.

The default side of living in a technological age is that we are recipients of the technology we create for ourselves become ‘hooked’ upon what’s available and the things we can do or utilise for our own enjoyment, so we lose often the ability to create our own stability. We lap up “hype” from emotionally and creatively driven stories and copy designed by the fickle themselves who seek to turn what is in reality mundane and has little purpose into something of hollow value with a glitter facade. Our positive mental health is paramount to living a good, fun packed, emotionally stable, loving and caring life, so the moment that is compromised then everything starts to falter within, it’s that simple. How we deal or come to terms or adjust to the changes in our life is paramount to how quickly we can get back on course and enter ‘life’ once again free from the doldrums and self created emotional gloom and the feelings of lowness which often prevails.

Whatever happens to us in life it is processed within our minds, tablets, booze, weirdo stuff, etc won’t change how we think or feel, although keeping healthy and active tends to revitalise sluggish thoughts and feelings and keeps our bodies in prime condition, all has a positive effect in more ways than just agility.  Our body is holistic in nature it needs all the parts to work to optimum performance so if any don’t and we don’t do anything about it, our own self abuse isn’t going to help us on our way to a better state in life.

When we get pushed into a corner and see little way out or circumstances of a negative nature loom large we often retort to self withdrawal, wanting “space” and “time to think” which is fine for a short spell, but once it overflows into days and possibly weeks and even longer then withdrawal symptoms start to manifest themselves as the mind isn’t getting the stimuli and mental nourishment it needs to work efficiently. Cocooning oneself isn’t an answer nor is it a solution it’s more like opting out with excuses than anything else. Our level of happiness and composure in life comes from within, being dramatic and telling all about your problems makes it worse as it gives it gravitas and fuels feelings of sympathy which in themselves have no value or strength.

The mind gremlins come out to play the moment we are feeling low, they just love the negative vibe they get from our own self created morose feelings and gross indecisive thoughts. The more we feel sorry for ourselves, the more we feel pitiful the more they love it, they jive to unrest, they boogie to indecision, they funk to panic, they waltz to hysteria, and they rave to restlessness,  and if self sorrow comes into play and feelings of “why me” (why not?), then they have an almighty ball. Those negative thoughts and words that flit and fly around your mind, the inner mental pep talks about how it will get worse and there’s no way out, and regurgitating all of the past and spreading it out, reliving it again and again, wallowing in your little faults, making mountains out of molehills, what a time they have feeding on what you are giving them yourself, a veritable banquet of dark mental detritus.

Our capacity to overcome and regain our composure is great and it’s within all of us to forge ahead to better things no matter what has beset or befallen us, we are the masters of who we are and our own destiny as well as keepers of our own happiness. The moment we admonish any of these on to conditions outside of our control then we have literally lost the plot as well as the ability too. Whilst others may be able to assist us, where outside circumstances may aid us, our life is still within us and it’s there until we die, how we utilise it for the better is solely down to our own creativity within. Honesty rather than fantasy or just plain “wishing and hoping” is a grounding experience because what we literally have we can use, what we wish for is forever illusive. There is no kudos in negativity encompassing emotions and feelings of self pity, it only tends after a while to whittle our self resolve down to a moment when we lose the desire and ability at which point untold mental conditions start to manifest themselves within the body.

Of course the mind gremlins have friends, anger, frustration, lack of humour, a short temper, irritability, irascibility, grumpy, touchy, greed, envy, fear, selfishness, etc and whole host of other like minded acquaintances that you probably know only too well. Unfortunately whilst you’re concentrating on these life starts to pass you  by then you wonder why things are getting worse, even though you are the instigator of it all, it’s short sighted and selfish but it’s all been chosen by yourself so no one really wants to hear about it. There’s nothing like turning the chemical imbalance within your body to something other than it should be then wonder why you don’t feel well or you manifest lots of minor ailments that never develop but never the less reside at the initial stages such as sniffing and flu symptoms, rashes, mild hyperventilation, indigestion, itching, mood swings, irregular sleeping disorders, sweaty palms, headaches with sore spots, and lots of other self generated goodies. Yes this is all your doing, your mind is so fantastically great you’ve chosen to unleash it’s power of self destruction and given up your ability to enjoy life.

We must at all times be in charge of who we are and that literally means when we don’t feel like it too, we still must be in charge and not let loose the mind gremlins that say nasty things to us and try and bring us down with feelings of insecurity and failure and loss and lack and all the other stuff that they feed upon. They are the failures not ourselves, they are the ones that need help not us, they are the ones who we have given permission to roam freely within our minds, and we know how to stop it too.  If you believe in God you have a way out, if you don’t just be positive and fight the infiltrators with stuff they don’t like, love, happiness, positivity, greatness, laughter, not giving in, success ahead, those are our friends we have who are our soldiers and fight for us, the ones who bring us success and a life that we need to enjoy. We all have "Mind Gremlins"  and when at times they come out to play, just rest in the knowledge that you have already won the race, despite outside circumstances, feel secure that life will be good and great and just because you possibly can't see it, it's there, just like electricity and air. Now concentrate on sleeping in the knowledge that positive change is always there.
