SPIRITUAL OSMOSIS

It appears today that more and more people are calling themselves "spiritual" in the wake of "man made religions", Islam getting out of hand and so very unstable, and others not delivering the goods. We don't see any benefits from any of the Gods that these people worship in any way because the basic credential for any believer is for them to believe and they don't. They base their belief on rhetoric and parrot fashion learning and of course fear, rules and regulations that hold back as opposed to encourage. So many people of these religions are full of anger and hatred, the conduit to God is through love and love alone, and evil masking love is like a wolf in sheep's clothing, it produces unrest and more devastation and evil. It is not good enough to "praise God" when things go well and when say "it must be a lesson" when it doesn't, because that's not true and it's make believe, brought about by failure and deceitful preachers who have no more contact with God than a Camel turd. Everyone who believes has contact, those that don't believe don't, you make your choices based upon whatever you feel "floats your boat" but in the end times if you are wrong you're nothing.

We then get the "New Age mob" those that talk about "nice things" but are all screwed up and look perpetually ill. Often seen hovering around health food stores and meetings of the pathetic and lost seeking more stories and information to enhance their journey into weirdness. Lastly, there are those who call themselves "Spiritual" (whatever they think that means) because they pretend not to believe in God (but they do a bit) preferring to believe in some supreme force or energy and they call that the Universe. They often come out with "if you put goodness into the Universe it will pay you back kindly" - where on earth that came from who knows, but then it says a lot about them too. Usually their attitude is whet and ineffectual, being on the fence no opinion one way or another and it i's a cop out between no I don't believe and "just in case" I do, a foot in both camps.

Spirituality is a state of mind, not just a set thought it is an actual state, very few actually have that state to apply their life by and thus the vast majority are just wandering around with a theoretical concept as opposed to something tangible that produces benefits. It fills 'that' box when it states Belief / Religion? Of course being "Spiritual" one must know the route to take, so many see a whimsy version of "Spirituality" as being good and kind and nice and believing in the "universe, etc, all of which is not incorrect. It is like believing in "Superman" sounds good, represents good, but doesn't exist. It is harmless to have 'spiritual' thoughts but it doesn't provide a purpose of merit, in real times of woe goes nowhere fast. In order to gain a "spiritual" access to life and what else it may hold, there must be something of a sincere nature to want it to happen otherwise one will like religion go through the motions talk endlessly about it and be no better off. A bit like having an  Mp3 player that just holds the information and no more.

Life for some, religion makes a world of difference both the parrot fashion brigade who are stoic and dumb as well as the open and true who can feel the access. The power of the mind is really incredible and when one has a belief of unlimited power then the road is always open to endless possibilities without the "wow factor" interfering. Often what scientists seek to know rarely happens as they interject logic en-route which immediately stymies what they are seeking. It's strange that many atheists / agnostics get upset when talking about religion or God (any one) whereas it shouldn't be an interest, like people talking about sport to those that can't stand it. Whatever your beliefs they are yours and it is no one else's business after all if you don't' believe there is nothing to say and if you do believe it's between you and God no one else. Life is about love, God is about love, evil or the devil is about bad, so here we have a commonality at a common level. Evil and killing can't be an aspect of religion otherwise it becomes devil worship, and after all if your God or it's followers kill what is the devil supposed to do other than be pleased that he has more workers afoot?

DANCING WITH GHOSTS

Does your past ever come back to haunt you? You ever have bouts of regret, remorse, guilt, apprehension of the past, etc? Does life at times seem like a course in aspects of deja vu or that you have feelings that it's recurring again like it's all the same but different? Do people remind you of the past or regurgitate stories of a not so nice nature that makes you feel somewhat low in spirits? Well fret not because it happens to many people every day at some juncture in their lives. Of course we can deliberately and almost consciously make decisions that repeat the past such as the "battered wife syndrome" and other areas where reality, stability and habit all roll themselves into one to try and fulfil an inner desire. It works but the result is always failure. One thing that people don't seem to bring to their guise of where they reside is the here and now and that the past is just that. No manner of conversation or saying sorry or crying or "making good" or appeasement or atonement or resolution or whatever is dreamt up today can alter, change or undo the past. What has happened has happened.

Guilt and memories of the past are manifested within the mind, nowhere else can they live, no one else can harbour your thoughts or feelings and no one else can ever change the thought process except yourself. Guilt is none productive and serves nothing more than a selfish whim of your own or worse still of others who wish to keep the past thoughts alive for their evilness of mind, it can't be said otherwise. Past loves, bereavement, financial greatness now no more, whatever it was has left its trail on life and is now confined to the echelons of history. We live in the present and our destiny lies in tomorrow which has nothing to do with the past even if decisions made yesterday affect what we do tomorrow, we can never live yesterdays decisions good or bad again. Trying to bring "closure" to the past is silly, because closure has already been effected, it's gone, so the only thing that people seek is something of a personal nature to try and bring form to it because they often can't bring together an understanding that "that's it" but it is, it's that simple. All this "we can rest now", "we can put it behind us", "we can do whatever" is unfortunately a selfish mind set often thrown up by the press or legally driven to try and add kudos but again the reality is you can't add kudos to the ghosts of time.

The problem with many people is that they are trying to find something tangible in life to give themselves meaning, importance, substance and an ability to proceed forwards with impunity and solidity, many fail. Grasping at intangible morsels of life as if that will help but sadly when they have tasted what they desire they find it is still not filling those voids within. When their desire to be emotionally quenched does not hit the mark they then set out on any other quest to see if that will effect a solution, sadly that doesn't help either. To feel really wholesome one must understand what life is all about and the past isn't something you can dance with in the present, memories are just that no matter how dear they are. If you for once delve into areas outside of substance then your whole ability will flounder and not only will life fragment it will be a job in itself to try and feel and see happiness other than for fleeting moments. Life is here, now, that is where you have to live, anywhere else and you are fooling yourself.

Ghosts don't have substance as we know it, they are the remnants of life past. If we choose to associate with anything that isn't here or to come then we are in for a rude awakening. Good mental health is our strongest essential asset if that goes we go with it. Love is the present foundation of humanity it's where everyone lives and moves and it's where we can interact. Our happiness is present time, our love is present time our life is present time and our future is partly present time. Making things up in our mind isn't smart, we need to see potential and not contrive responsibility of atonement because if it is atoned we are still left bereft of substance. For the deceased it's all too late and it means absolutely nothing. Doing things on behalf of the deceased and still say "I did it on their behalf" is a lie and not true and it smacks of selfishness all the way through. If you can't see life for what it is never expect to be happy.

CHERRY PICKING LIFE

We all like to have the best in life it's almost a natural instinct we are selective when we shop and selective about the people we have in our lives too. Within all of that most people have a degree of compassion, love and understanding which allows us to share with others aspects of themselves, the opposite of which is called "selfishness". Similarly in other aspects of our lives we almost veer on the side of "cherry picking" and his includes quite a number of areas within our lives that we take ownership of. One of those areas is religion, if one believes in God then the chances are you are a member of some religious belief as opposed to believing in God directly as all religions are man made and therefore have faults and added bits and pieces. Many like to cherry pick the nice and easy bits to fit in with their lifestyle and understanding and the rest well, tend to allow it to reside at the back of the mind. This tends to actually be the rule of thumb for many in their lives as they tailor aspects of themselves and thus hone more specifically to aspects that concern them or make life easier.

The problem at times with "cherry picking" life is that it can be habitual and thus we can both live and work in an abridged version of it missing out on various aspects and not acknowledging much of what is needed to give life substance. We can also ride roughshod over others and gradually this will make us appear both aloof and not fully engaged, which will after a time be the case and life will end up as short bursts of 'what I want" at he expense of others values. Whilst here is nothing wrong with looking after No.1 in life (yourself) it can render  the self somewhat incomplete and not having the assistance nor help of others when needed, which at times is essential. No man is an island. Furthermore if "cherry picking" becomes almost second nature then it will have very adverse effects upon any type of relationship whether with a significant other or just friends and associates and possibly communicational skills in general. Like everything in life balance is the key point, we should always be wary of people who constantly "cherry pick" who are around us as you will be always way down the list on their priorities if at all at times and there's no reason that by default knowing this you should allow yourself to be put into such a position.

The opportunities that abound around us are infinitesimal so we rightly need to pick upon both those which suite our purpose and our character too, it's this fine honing that makes life what it is. At the same time we really do need others for if we don't have any significant people in our lives loneliness starts to creep in and that really can be a major problem, and indeed is for many. Psychologically we need to feel needed, loved, wanted and need to feel that we want others even if it's just a "best friend" if we negate all of this then we start to develop psychosomatic feelings which can be very varied and be our downfall with regards mental health  and stability. Having said all of that we can "cherry pick" on behalf of those we like or care for in that we wish them to have the best of what is on offer or available so our deeds of compassion and understanding not only come through but are rewarded by a heightened camaraderie rather than isolation. Everyone makes their own way in life regardless of others, we have to be the masters of our own course and manoeuvre our around whatever is head of us, make sure the journey is wholesome and then enjoy the ride.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH LIFE

Most people seem to have a gripe at something or another, it's not that they are predominantly moaners and groaners it's just that there is something that slightly jars with them with regards certain topics or people or evil religions forever killing or governments being weak or whatever it is. We have an opinion in life even if we choose not to vent it we still have some thoughts and it's those thoughts that subliminally fuel a whole array of feelings regarding life. Over and above this there are various levels of thought sometimes just residing there and unchecked, for example if you say to someone would you like to be more happy in life the answer is predominantly a 'yes. Then if you say to them are you unhappy they predominantly say "no", so what is it that that could make you more happy other than the bog standard answers like "more money", "new car"  whatever it is. It's usually material things which can give a degree of happiness but it's only for a fleeting moment, once you get what you want your desires move on and so it goes, a bit like the "carrot and the donkey" situation.

Wanting more or better isn't at all wrong, it's actually quite natural, but happiness hasn't really much to do with your desires it's more to do with the state of your mind, and your literal mind not something that's hypothetical and conjured up because it sounds impressive or incorporates a list of 'likes'. Life will never ever be perfect because 'man' as a race isn't perfect so we in our judgement have to decide where we are and that we are going to enjoy what we have got even if at the same time we strive for better. That way we carry happiness with us and the joy of life and it makes everything far better and we communicate far more efficiently too and have the ability to understand more proficiently at events around us that happen. There are to many stock questions stock answers, people almost automatically say "yes" if it involves more of something good or tangible, even if they can't readily think of what to do with them immediately. Similarly if you asked someone to name three important things in their lives they initially struggle even if they are married with two children. It's not that those (their partner and two children) aren't the most important things in their lives and once pointed out state "yes they are" it's the initial thought that it has to be something material that's been acquisitioned or bought or a legacy or a winning of something.

For many life isn't that bad, they know many of the global circumstances and situations are beyond their control and that their lives are in their domain no one else's so even if it could be better the current enjoyment is still there and still very tangible. How we think and our reliance on negative emotions steers our course, we are the only drivers of our vehicle called "self" or "me" so if we go out of kilter then we wander aimlessly and start to veer all over the place which in turn causes further consternation and we sail at times too close to the rocks and without any safety boat should we collide. Collectively people can do many things, like topple governments and regimes etc, but individually we have only the authority to do what is expedient for us without alienating everyone else around us and causing further problems.

Life can be good and great, life can be whatever you want it to be. Your attitude is of prime importance for that is the culmination of all your thoughts and feelings and mind set rolled into one and projected for the public to see. So if your attitude stinks so do you and no one wants to know you or help you or even bother with you for why should they if you can't meet life even half way. Do you dwell on the negative aspects of life or the positive aspects of life, because whichever one you do dwell upon will decide your course of action and your degree of self esteem. It can get habitual to see negativity and if so it will pull you down, if you tend to see the positive aspects of life, which doesn't mean you don't see or understand the negative aspects, then life will be full of hope and upliftment. The bottom line is it's your life your choice - make sure you make the decisions that serve you well otherwise you'll end up with memories of emptiness which is not what life is all about.

STABILITY

The major problems affecting people in the West are those associated with the self, that is not material problems but mental scenarios that are difficult for many to get to grips with or come to terms with.  Ironically within our own reality many material things exist on our 'want list' and that in itself creates further mental unrest as we deem materialism as almost essential to us either moving forward or becoming more 'established' or fulfilling our desire to be whatever it is we desire. It can be such a lonely and narrow pathway we create as we build up an image of how we wish to be and present ourselves to the outside world that we lose the reality of what it is that we do best and our own personality. So many people face the possibility of failure because they take the wrong trajectory or tack in life based upon what they think as opposed to what they know and an almost immediate struggle is self created and it need not be so. The dichotomy of life of how we see it and how others see us at the same time walking together to reach our goals is at times so different that if analysed we would not recognise what is taking place and who is doing what either. Such confusion is getting more common as people tend to relinquish ownership of themselves and base it upon a mixture of hypothetical ideals of others, perceptions, incorrect thoughts and following others who they have little idea as to how they made the grade and what they encountered en-route.

Everywhere one goes we are bombarded with sales, concocted ideals, perceived and created realities all drawn up by a collection of thoughts and sales pitches that are designed to pull those insecure heart strings, those excitable areas of potential and the hope of better things to come but very little chance of it ever reaching a glimmer of success as it's all hollow, shallow and grossly insincere. Time lines are the biggest failure areas that people seem to omit in their thinking, what someone did there, then, at that time, with those circumstances, with their parameters, etc, etc, doesn't exist anymore. And whilst their modus operandi is good and solid the detail surrounding it all doesn't exist anymore either, it was all in the past. Such books that purport to give one the clues or steps to success are really a biography of those that have made it and whilst logic prevails throughout the guarantee of it happening to you are minimal at best. Entrepreneurs just "do it", if you need endless motivational tools then your chances are already reduced and whilst motivation is always good it doesn't carry any backup so failure or gross disappointment or worse 'still can't work' with the new learn-ed knowledge because it doesn't quite compute in the mind leaves many frustrated and resigned to falling back on themselves.

Our stability is essential if we are to think clearly, sleep well and face the future no matter what happens. There are no magic wands out there so we have to be realistic as to where we want to go, what we have to accept (which is hard for many as they think they deserve more) and what is the potential again realistically for the future. Striving for a dream is wasting your time and boring those around you. It doesn't mean negating a goal but placing everything in a reality scenario because unless we actively embark upon something it's never ever going to happen. Stability is to do with US and no one else, we can't apportion him, her, this, that, because, they, or anything else, it's all down to us to sort out and not wait for others to change or circumstance to change to suite us, that's pathetic. Placing the onus on areas that we have no control over isn't smart, we have a lot of clout ourselves and ability to alter many things, laziness is the biggest obstacle and thus the "self" is the biggest problem we will ever have to face.

FAILED RELATIONSHIPS

The incidence of mental unrest in relationships is at an all time high, it matters not what religion you subscribe to, what doctrine you wish to understand nor where you live, although that has other effects upon your thought patterns. In life there is one common denominator and that is yourself, so if you have failed at many things time and time again including relationships then you are the point of commonality in the whole thing. Don't blame circumstances, situations, conditions, or 'it just didn't work out', etc, you are the common denominator in the whole shebang. There's none of this "well you're lucky" or "I just don't seem to meet the right people" it doesn't exist. What you did, find, enacted upon, joined into, might have been wrong, flawed, incorrect, etc, but you went into it, and seemingly have done so time and time again. How, why, is another matter but taking the leap into doing what you did for it to fail yet again outlines to everyone else that somewhere down the line there isn't that intelligent connection that's seeing possibilities which come to light as if almost in a recurring manner. Not dissimilar to the "battered wife" syndrome.

Of course failure isn't as bad a situation in some areas as we seem to make out, scientists often fail for years trying to do something and it not working out until one day that 'eureka' moment hits them. Many people are alive today because of the constancy of pushing forward over and above failure in researching pharmaceuticals. Similarly with engineering and science life is often trial and error and even in accidents we learn what not to do or how better to modify the service or product for future betterment. Failure can make us stronger and wiser and give us a degree of personal wisdom over and above that which we could learn from just every day life.

Our relationships span a multitude of levels in life from one with ourselves, do we love ourself? To those with significant others, friends, family, work colleagues, to those who we meet in the shopping mall, services and other intermediaries. Some people walk around with an almost permanent smile and face life as it is whether or not they receive any reciprocation from others is immaterial. Others walk around with a glum dull face and if anyone smiles at them they get unnerved and even upset wondering what the catch is, such is their low debased and insular nature. How we view life is how we live it, the better we are at looking good the more help and encouragement we get from others and the more respect we tend to get too. No one likes to help grumpy gruff sloven people, it goes well against the grain both psychologically and morally, it doesn't feel good, and we need a degree of reciprocation in order for us to make additional moves in what we can or will do.

Loneliness for the main part is down to failed relationships with life and the amount of selfishness that's in that thought behind it all. There are those who are forced because of physical and mental conditions to live in an isolated situation, but the vast majority aren't. Selfishness, meanness, laziness, bad attitude are all contributors to loneliness. Failed life relationships are self created, and it matters not whether one is naturally gregarious or reticent, in between all of this is humanity, and if we don't embrace it or we have stilted views or prefer to be biased towards our family or race or creed or whatever then we will sadly and statistically be veering to a life as time goes by to be on our own. People who are on their own tend to have more problems mentally and physically than those with good and constant friends. Whatever you think, whatever excuses you put up, the ball is in your court, no one wants to hear the excuses anymore, if you can't give of yourself you are certainly not going to receive back what humanity has to offer.
