THE END OF THE ROAD

There comes a point in all of our lives when something finishes and something else starts. Sometimes it's a very pleasant thing other times it's quite the opposite. Whatever it is we have to do one thing and that's keep on going, it's what life is all about. It may be a hard truth to bear especially when that end involves a loved one, but life from day one has a cycle and that is birth and death, what we make in between is entirely up to us. We are all different and take things differently, indeed we all look upon things differently too, never the less the commonality in life is that whilst we are alive we have to do the best we can and that all springs from our mind, nowhere else. Our attitude is paramount to living a life full of laughter and mirth and as much camaraderie as possible for without that we are nothing but isolated people living for the sake of it. "Love" is the actual corner stone of life it is what makes us whom we are it's what makes us and our race the one that has lasted the longest and the one that has developed beyond measure to arrive at where it is today. It may indeed not be perfect, yet it has come a long way in development, even though many parts of planet earth still have very backward societies that are parasitic in nature from those that have made the effort and enjoyed the freedom to do so. The religiously controlled societies slowly eating away at themselves offering nothing to society other than unrest and mayhem such is the 'evilness' inbuilt into their belief.

Life and society are permanently evolving, no more so than today where great changes are overtaking the structures that have for so long been the benchmarks for what we do now. An eclipse of time is making our whole rationale look upon where we are and who we are from different perspectives and ironically it's governments that are the slowest to react to this as they see 'vested interests' more important that physically making a difference or introducing a quantum leap in how their strategies are evoked. The "commercial self" is by far a prime contender the actual job is secondary even if at times both appear neck and neck. Unrest and unwarranted dissociation by the state and governments will only add to the already confused electorate as verbalised rhetoric is spewed out manufactured by backroom mandarins colluding and devising hypothetical realities that bear no resemblance to the ability of it being carried out. More unrest will be followed by more unrest until eventually a real statesman will enter the affray and this will happen in many countries as they regain and find their level. Open thinkers also will eventually rule the roost as opposed to intellectual thinkers who do just that intellectualise but little more.

Intelligence and common sense have little in common although it's not beyond reason that many possess both, and occasionally especially in politics it seems it's the few who possess both and their lies always the major problem. The "heart" of any country must be captured by the government and that means like minded souls "thinking alike" and having the ability to "understand" the national feeling as it is and not as some pathetic consultancy has put forward at vast expense and gotten wrong. With feelings and temperaments elevated, as they will constantly be raised as we go forward in the century it's essential that governments and individuals feel that there is a "home turf" that they can emotionally rest upon and not see governments condescending to foreigners and outsiders as if they are a charity and neglecting all else.

SHADOWS OF LIFE

In everyone's life there is a silent programme running in the background. It's usually hidden within our "Life Files" and very personal to us, it contains all of our secret ideals, feelings, attitudes, desires, fears, phobias, failures, thoughts on others and often these files contain elements of somewhat 'not so savoury' areas of our thinking and 'secret arrogant thoughts'.  It doesn't matter who we are or where we are from we have these hidden files and they are with us 24/7. For some the files are crammed full of data others they contain very little. The bottom line is that how we make our way in life and how our stability pans out emanates from our perception and our responding attitude. Everything has a shadow a light side and a dark side, we have a sentient thought process and see life from our own particular stand point. It's this stand point that can make or break us and give us joy or sadness, it can give us by default happiness or sadness and most of it from not even moving from any particular point.  The "bigger picture" is where we really reside even at a personal level, if we decide to live within a cocoon of narrowness then life will eventually close in on us and we will lose the ability to think beyond our vision and when that happens a dullness will overtake and cause untold distress on many levels.

Within our whole civilisation lies a darkness the antithesis of all that's good and great, it's the result of a designer creativity for a purpose that has an effect of being disharmonious to our own lifestyle or way forward. Not everything is conducive to everyone, the 'one size fits all' scenario doesn't exist. Where some feel comfortable others stand almost shivering with apprehension such is the way we feel and interact with our comfort zone. Never the less we all have a purpose and we all have an opportunity to be what we want to be. The difference is that some regard their desire to  be appreciated by the many and that's the hard part. Some achieve greatness without seemingly too much trouble although from there on life is usually a quest of relationships and scenarios for which they need to conquer and achieve for themselves as they loose all moral stability. Their lives are usually too full of endless bouts of ups and down, but it can be a life that's privileged so one must take the rough with the smooth.

For the majority of people the shadow areas of life can be controlled because reality is a very stabilising force upon life and what we do. It puts most people back into a stage that they have to think quickly and thus they summarise all around them and where they are at and come to a conclusion that puts them into a position that they feel best comfortable with. It's when negative emotions creep into our lives for whatever reason that we veer from the "straight and narrow" (which varies from person to person) and we start then to collate extraneous thoughts about "why", "it's not fair", "I want", and all the rest and the mind then starts 'calculating' and that can be for the some their biggest downfall because their ideas go ahead of the reality of it all. We often see on talent programmes on television contestants talking about aspirations and before we even see them perform we have feelings that this is possibly the one and only time they will ever be on television.

Everything we do has a downside as well as a positive side, it's the application and deed of what's best that makes the positivity of it all come to life and overshadows the negative aspects no matter how minimal they may have been. At times we have to make far reaching decisions that encompass many aspects some of which no matter what we do will disadvantage others and there are no options that will preclude that. Whatever we do we must conduct it from a good heart that way we will minimise the negativity that will ensue thereafter even if some don't receive a benefit. Provided we make the best decision(s) we cannot take the negativity from others, they have to steer their course and you are not responsible for their thoughts. We all have to drive our own vehicle in life no matter what and can't apportion what others have done as that is out of our control. The key to success is to forge ahead, dwelling on the problem and get angry overtakes the solution and then nothing happens which is what happens to many. Some even believe that when their life is a mess it's because of others whereas in reality it's them not taking control. Life at times is not easy, but there again the success of striving to do your best is well worth waiting for as the reward is rich.

OUT OF SORTS WITH LIFE

How we feel about life varies from moment to moment, sometimes we just feel "out of it" for no apparent reason, other times there are a number of issues going through our minds and at other moments we just lose focus on whom we are where we are going and that possibly life isn't offering much in the area of stimulus or excitement. Our reality is what we live in, whatever life is or isn't it's our take on it that makes us think and feel the way we do. Our reality can make our lives or lead us down a road of hard work and toil, it can cloud our judgement, our thoughts, our feelings, our clarity and our overall happiness factor. Whatever we experience we process it via our minds and take whatever course of action we deem appropriate including becoming remorse, miserable and sullen, it's self pity taking over but the bottom line is it's you who has instigated it, no one else. There is no such thing as "well you'd be like this if you had ..... " or "life has made me this way" life has done no such thing, if you want to be selfish and small minded that's a choice you have made, it's not like a virus that you can pick up. Of course mild forms of depression are a different matter, often circumstances and solutions weight heavily and we can't process it all proficiently enough so we go into a dull state of regressive thought, yet here again many induce such a state on to themselves as they actually feel it's a worthy and plausible thing to do which gains a degree of respect, where did that notion ever come from?  Some even think it's smart to say "I'm depressed", "I'm stressed" and throw in the Hollywood drama of responses and toned voice as if it heightens their credibility factor.

There is only one way to deal with life being out of sorts and that is to literally deal with it yourself by not giving in and making yourself feel bad. Everything has a lifespan, both good and bad things come to an end and circumstances change but facing up to adversity is by far the best way to keep your mind, body and soul in pristine condition and enjoy the life ride as opposed to enduring it then harbouring the memories. For those who were seeking an easy option or an answer that's far easier and there are many who perpetually seek the easy way if foolishly, you reap what you sow. For those that "get on" in life and just "do it" the rewards are great as is self confidence, understanding, compassion, drive, happiness and fortitude. If we can't keep a good council then no one else can do it for us no matter how much they want to. What goes on in our heads is ours and only ours and no manner of help, advice or strategies given by others will change how you think unless you want that to happen.

Life is what it is, it doesn't have the ability to make a choice for you or want to make it extra nice because it likes you or wants to "get back" at you because it doesn't, it's not that fragile nor thoughtful. Life is exactly what it is and that's a culmination of endless options and permutations coming together all at once all the time, hence change happens sometimes suddenly other times gradually, but change never the less happens. Life can throw into our pathway a demagogue of  choices all of which are not so savoury, similarly even the good choices have repercussions and strings to them. Our own verve and tenacity pulls us through, bestows a degree of authority, success and knowledge and it goes officially under the banner of experience. Whether we take heed of that experience and decide regardless to enjoy life is down to us, it's not a point of discussion for friends nor anyone else. The more we decide to enjoy and not be a sponge to what's around us the better life will not only become but our whole attitude and the attitude of others around us will improve and before we know it there will be an uplift from where we were to a more positive and refreshing stance in life. If we challenge the good to find credibility with the option of reverting back to bad if it doesn't pan out then you are really pathetic and need to alter your complete ideology about yourself and life. Like attracts like and negativity attracts negativity, positivity attracts positivity, your option, your choice.

THE HIGHER SELF

There's a lot spoken about "The Higher Self" and indeed there are endless books on the subject and a whole host of videos on YouTube too to keep you occupied for the next twenty years. Much of it is all the same stuff regurgitated with each authors' own slant or interpretation and at times it seems like it's re-inventing the wheel yet again. Whether most of it is true or not one rarely gets to know if as many claim it is or does what it is supposed to do why isn't it more universally available and helping people in life as opposed to where it tends to reside with the "New Age" lost and bewildered crowd. Also those perpetually seeking answers to life at the expense of not getting anywhere as their reality isn't tangible and is often paradoxically narrow and full of useless diatribe and associated ill health and lacking in laughter and dietary problems. The most commonly practised areas of the "Higher Self are done in Buddhism and have been for centuries, it's part of their doctrine. And whilst the Higher Self comes into other religions too it's mentioned as some tertiary area and not dealt with in any great depth the reason being that the religious leaders in the main religions are in themselves far from Spiritual and their higher self is more akin to walking upstairs as opposed to raising their minds.

The dictionary definition is as follows:- Higher self is a new age term associated with multiple belief systems, but its basic premise describes an eternal, omnipotent, conscious, and intelligent being, who is one's real self. Blavatsky formally defined the higher self as "Atma the inseparable ray of the Universal and ONE SELF. It is the God above, more than within, us". Each and every individual has a Higher self.

Make of that as you will, many people talk about 'being spiritual' or accessing their 'higher self' quite easily but to be honest very few if ever challenged wouldn't have a clue as to proficiently describe it even if they had got the basic gist of it right. Having said that there still would be a great gap between knowing what it means, understanding what it means and literally following it through to enacting it. Accessing the Higher Self is supposedly a positive move in that it can give clarity and improve the quality of life and give more of a peaceful scenario to life and our purpose and our understanding. And as an adjunct improve our health too and certainly reduce stress, even the self induced hysterical exclusive type. The main problem which lets most people down is the mediation, it's difficult for the vast majority and to sit still for over 30 mins without looking at their cell phone, it is beyond life itself for many who suffer from 'cell phone shuffle'. Quick look, quick look, quick look, quick look on a repetitive basis even if it hasn't made any of the numerous pings and clings that say "you have mail". It's also getting over that initial "nothingness" where the mind races and thinks of everything under the sun and at this stage thwarts people who then believe that they can't meditate after 5 mins and give it all up. Although to access your higher self you really don't have to meditate even though it's the long established and usual route. Life isn't a "one size fits all" and what benefits one gets from anything is literally down to the 'self' not what others proclaim or what someone has written in a book, that's no validation.
At times one can read articles on "the Higher Self" and it at sounds all very nice but what benefit does or can it give you right now to improve your life. It improves the lives of those that give classes on it because you pay them, but what about yourself when you have other things on your mind like life and keeping body and soul together and work, and the home, and bills and whatever. And yes one must put all these into perspective and prioritise and not be flippant with what constitutes one's day or existence, and yes it's important to have good quality "chill out" time otherwise we get overload and then that's it, we vegetate in our minds and lose the cognisance of reality and enjoyment. Our emotions in life play a major part, something we have all experienced such as from tears of joy to tears of sorrow and the latter is no fun whatsoever, something which we have strong memories of even if many years ago. Our higher self has a lot to do with the use and placement of our emotions and how we see life and the usage of our verbiage and deeds towards both others and ourselves. It's both complex and simple at the same time, where many go wrong is that they literally don't think allowing emotions to take over then it's "show time" and out comes the self and ego and anger and jealousy and arrogance, and the rest and of course much of all this is linked to low self esteem, which is far far away from any higher self.

One thing the "higher self" will not do is give you a key to life, it won't give you any short cuts to a better future or increase your wealth (unless you write a book yourself or give classes), it won't get you more friends or makes others like you and it won't make you the star of your own show. It won't make you more attractive or successful and it won't give you a place of superiority in life either, in fact it won't do much at all especially at the material level. It will give you a better understanding of life if you are not arrogant enough to think you know it all already, it will possibly increase your health status, it will give you a peace that you maybe haven't enjoyed for a long time and it will give you a presence over life that you may not have experienced before either. Anything else is a bonus for you and what you get out of it as there are NO set benefits and some advance amazingly whilst other plod on, but all should increase an enjoyment to some degree. Whatever you do life should be treasured and not from an angry perspective as that will forever set you aside from really getting the best out of life and attracting that which you don't want nor need.

THE LIFE- DEATH- RESPECT BALANCE

Firstly, how honest and sincere are you, it's a rhetorical question so no answer is needed other than the one to yourself, it not only makes a big difference to your life but those around you and ultimately how you think and feel. Whatever the answer is it matters to you only as you are the only one to live your life so if you are dishonest and insincere then others will pick up on that and over time the results will show for themselves. Our stance in life encompasses many different areas, some religious, some cultural, some endemic, and some situational, some educational and many emotional aspects plus a dearth of other minor areas that together make up whom we are. It generally works well although if we don't take ownership of our lives we can by default let any of these constituent areas rule the roost and then we get lost in the fog of stupidity and even worse bad decision and stilted negative opinions of hollow worth.

Two things we all have in common, one we are here alive now part of life itself, we were born into it, and the other is awaiting us in the wings it's death, the date of which we don't know.  There is an industry all about the pomp and ceremony of death created on a commercial basis and shrouded in a hell of a lot of religious clap trap that is neither accurate, true, nor God driven and has no effect whatsoever on the quality of our death or where we are going to go. On our eventual demise most people won't be going anywhere. It matters not how much you believe in whatever fabricated religion you subscribe to, if you don't have love in your heart you are not going to transcend death. Real love is not elasticated, which religious love is, love is all enveloping and doesn't come with a legal document full of conditions, nor are there mitigating circumstances, nor are there opt out clauses which religions dwell upon so as not to lose their pathetic flock. If your religion demands you do this n' that but then says if you can't because of this n' that and offer an opt out clause then it's a load of rubbish. God doesn't have exceptions, you believe or you don't, you follow or you don't. No special clothes, eating, bowing scraping etc. The litmus test is you are shipwrecked on to a dessert island with nothing more than the clothes you are in, you bury some of your colleagues, you pray on your own, you live on your own, you make the way forward the best way possible and the link between you and God is just that. It DOESN'T involve ANYONE else, ever.

Hypocrisy and emotional failure in religious matters, fear, fright, guilt, hatred, killing, etc should not enter the affray as love doesn't hold these areas at all, it can't it's as if one keeps a foot in the camp of the Devil and God just in case, it's evil to think of both in the same context. Attending a funeral of someone who you have not seen or made contact with is not respect it's an insult, life is for the living not the dead, there is nothing going to happen under the auspices of "respecting the dead", what do you think is going to happen? The self journey into feeling good for yourself utilising respect as a cover is your entitlement, albeit a pathetic one. And as a general 'moral' thought we do offer our personal thoughts as a symbol under the auspices of respect, but it doesn't alter the facts nor change anything, and if indeed we didn't respect the dead nothing is going to happen anyway. Being seen to be "respectful" in the eyes of others is shallow as if they have any input or say in our lives or those of the deceased, death is just that, our memories live within us and that's where it all is kept alive, not in showmanship and false selfishness and wailing and screaming and wearing black, it changes nothing, never has never will.

As a society we are generally respectful, it makes us feel good and secure, our morals are generally good although society today has different values than that of years ago, but that's an evolutionary thing more that being for the better or worse. Our relationship with God is purely ours not the government nor anyone else, hence the Middle East try to meld both and hence such a "bloody mess" ensues. If we believe and die alone with no ceremony or congregation weeping in abundance but have love in our hearts then our journey is still as true as ever. Of course if we are Darwinians then we are a mistake of life and have evolved to this level of sentient humanity, the difference is when they die that's your lot, you get confined to where you came from nothing. Your prescience on planet earth is just some sort of objective to live as long as you can the best you can because that's what you do, all else is fallacy, your wish on death will be granted and you will cease to have to fulfil that ideology and your bone meal will be for new growth in life's garden, nothing more. Your spiritual entity (if you believe that or not) will also cease and your transient placement will have been in vain.

As for all those religions wanting to control, use it for their own purpose, syphon off funds for themselves, peddle hatred and killing and suicide bombers and the like, then the inevitable is nigh. Most religions - that is those devised by man, will die off as they are disingenuous with love, as there are endless conditions involved. God's love is unconditional, it's a "one liner" no more. The counterfeits all fall apart in the end no matter how brainwashed and pseudo sincere they think they are. The truth is the truth, call, it what you will or decipher it your way, or give it your slant or interpret it how you think, it all smacks of human error and motive and this is where the evilness of religion floats its boat, it has to because nothing ever happens, it can't as the conduit doesn't make the connection. If something goes well you can thank God until you are blue in the face - which people do, but positive happenings happen to, atheists equally as well, miracles take the love walk to the edge, and the vast majority of people just don't make it. But there again you have the option 24/7 to go down whatever route you like. At the end of the day however, being a hypocrite doesn't score "brownie" points nor does your version of God to guarantee anything upon death, or even during your life either.
