SHADOWS OF LIFE

In everyone's life there is a silent programme running in the background. It's usually hidden within our "Life Files" and very personal to us, it contains all of our secret ideals, feelings, attitudes, desires, fears, phobias, failures, thoughts on others and often these files contain elements of somewhat 'not so savoury' areas of our thinking and 'secret arrogant thoughts'.  It doesn't matter who we are or where we are from we have these hidden files and they are with us 24/7. For some the files are crammed full of data others they contain very little. The bottom line is that how we make our way in life and how our stability pans out emanates from our perception and our responding attitude. Everything has a shadow a light side and a dark side, we have a sentient thought process and see life from our own particular stand point. It's this stand point that can make or break us and give us joy or sadness, it can give us by default happiness or sadness and most of it from not even moving from any particular point.  The "bigger picture" is where we really reside even at a personal level, if we decide to live within a cocoon of narrowness then life will eventually close in on us and we will lose the ability to think beyond our vision and when that happens a dullness will overtake and cause untold distress on many levels.

Within our whole civilisation lies a darkness the antithesis of all that's good and great, it's the result of a designer creativity for a purpose that has an effect of being disharmonious to our own lifestyle or way forward. Not everything is conducive to everyone, the 'one size fits all' scenario doesn't exist. Where some feel comfortable others stand almost shivering with apprehension such is the way we feel and interact with our comfort zone. Never the less we all have a purpose and we all have an opportunity to be what we want to be. The difference is that some regard their desire to  be appreciated by the many and that's the hard part. Some achieve greatness without seemingly too much trouble although from there on life is usually a quest of relationships and scenarios for which they need to conquer and achieve for themselves as they loose all moral stability. Their lives are usually too full of endless bouts of ups and down, but it can be a life that's privileged so one must take the rough with the smooth.

For the majority of people the shadow areas of life can be controlled because reality is a very stabilising force upon life and what we do. It puts most people back into a stage that they have to think quickly and thus they summarise all around them and where they are at and come to a conclusion that puts them into a position that they feel best comfortable with. It's when negative emotions creep into our lives for whatever reason that we veer from the "straight and narrow" (which varies from person to person) and we start then to collate extraneous thoughts about "why", "it's not fair", "I want", and all the rest and the mind then starts 'calculating' and that can be for the some their biggest downfall because their ideas go ahead of the reality of it all. We often see on talent programmes on television contestants talking about aspirations and before we even see them perform we have feelings that this is possibly the one and only time they will ever be on television.

Everything we do has a downside as well as a positive side, it's the application and deed of what's best that makes the positivity of it all come to life and overshadows the negative aspects no matter how minimal they may have been. At times we have to make far reaching decisions that encompass many aspects some of which no matter what we do will disadvantage others and there are no options that will preclude that. Whatever we do we must conduct it from a good heart that way we will minimise the negativity that will ensue thereafter even if some don't receive a benefit. Provided we make the best decision(s) we cannot take the negativity from others, they have to steer their course and you are not responsible for their thoughts. We all have to drive our own vehicle in life no matter what and can't apportion what others have done as that is out of our control. The key to success is to forge ahead, dwelling on the problem and get angry overtakes the solution and then nothing happens which is what happens to many. Some even believe that when their life is a mess it's because of others whereas in reality it's them not taking control. Life at times is not easy, but there again the success of striving to do your best is well worth waiting for as the reward is rich.

THE AGE OF GREED AND DECEPTION

Our life, our world, our environment etc is in a constant state of flux, forever changing and often by forces outside of our control. Much of our everyday life we have some degree of ability to change the rest we must steer our own ship the best way we can to overcome and bypass the obstacles that seem to evade our radar and loom large right in front of us all of a sudden causing us to wobble a little. The good news is that we are in reality quite resilient people despite the setbacks and despite the consternation and sleepless nights we do overcome and we live to tell the story. Another day dawns and history is just that a memory of yesterday for tomorrow is where we are forever moving towards.

The commercial world is similarly going through a turmoil of its own, however in this case it's not world conditions or "Acts of God" or catastrophes these conditions are well and truly man made. Created by the deceit and greed of a 'few' in order to supply their need at the expense of others who have basically "trusted" the few to honor a commitment to uphold their hard earned funds. What banking was was a "gentleman's profession" has indeed turned out to be a triumvirate of divisive cohorts comprising of financial, legal and marketing professions scraping through the corridors of 'barely legal' in order to extract monies from gullible clients. However it doesn't stop there, American companies lead the way to greed and subterfuge followed very closely by the rest of the world. Spam, free downloads, unbundling, etc, are on the increase with no morals nor compunction for the punter caught in the middle. Where once when you bought something that was it, today what you buy is the start of a seemingly endless "ad hock" "designer version" so to make it what you really need you have to buy endless "add ons" all at a cost of raising the price for as many others as possible in the process getting a cut of your cash.

The levels of trust and peace of mind are getting out of hand, subliminal unease is starting to percolate through society even to the point of not trusting your local authority as the well being of the community seems to be governed by a few who have stilted and narrow views and often appear to do what they want as opposed to what is expedient to all. Internet sites run "Lite" products yet boast of fabulous facilities and the moment you click on the site you are "Bombarded" with endless "Upgrade" popups, it's all a "sprat to catch a mackerel".  Yes people are entitled to make money and yes life has a cost value too, but it has gotten to the point where value and trust are secondary components, with lack of humanity that is in evidence rather than the quality of the product. There's much talk about the "experience factor" but that "Experience factor" varies from that which emanates from the seller to that which is experienced by the buyer and in many cases it's a disappointment in that what you thought you were getting now costs five times more and you not only don't want to pay the extra or possibly can't afford to but you have lost interest in it too. Result gross disappointment. Commerce isn't what it used to be - by and large, especially in companies that train operatives to try and stop you going any further with your problems or claims etc. Deceit attracts deceit.

How we go through life is largely down to ourselves, so we have to put a brave face on every day so as not to fall into a downward spiral which for some is unfortunately all too easy. Holding on to negativity isn't a solution, despite what happens We need to respect ourselves and if we don't like something then either vote differently or go elsewhere, it does work eventually as you will not be alone even if you think it's only happening to you - it's not. Societies have been toppled of recent date, companies brought to their knees, situations changed dramatically, but only you can make a difference to your standing, or not as you may think "why should I" and their lies your true value to yourself.

THE DARK CLOUDS OVERHEAD

At times in life a darkness seems to overtake us to the extent it subliminally alters our views, perceptions , feelings, outlook and degrees of positivity that we once thought was a strength that we had within. It's only a feeling regardless of the reality of circumstances and not those of perceived circumstances, and although it all may appear very real our thoughts pertaining to our feelings are created within our minds. When we take off on a plane we often go through cloud, rain, snow, etc, only to find a few minutes into the flight all has changed and there is bright sun or if at night clear views of the stars and moon. Life is exactly like that, the clouds that tend to darken our lives are but temporary and we need to understand that troubles never last forever neither does the happiness that we enjoy although it doesn't mean that the happiness will not return to something much better.  It's just that everything in life has a "shelf life" and we need to work to that premise. Knowing that we have the impetus to work for those moments when it all changes which could be as short as a few days or as long as a few months, never the less in between awaiting these breaks in the cloud we have to enjoy life and not endure it. We are the masters of our own body and mind and thus we have to do the best to respect that and not concede nor acquiesce to circumstances that are subject to change at a minutes notice.
Today we have a name for everything, like "None Eventful Progress" - you are bored, nothing more nothing less, yet all of a sudden because old fashioned boredom has been given a modern title someone somewhere will feel that they are suffering from it, and worse still some politically correct moron will take it seriously and now what has developed is a scenario that should never ever have existed. Mild depression is not uncommon but by no means a block or excuse  not to do anything unless you make it so. The more we pamper ourselves the worse life gets which is not the same as taking care of yourself. One finds all the successful people regardless of what they do etc, just get up and go for it, whereas those that don't get anywhere are just full of perpetual excuses as to why they can't or didn't or haven't or whatever it is they have conjured up. Most people who have experienced that "down" feeling and just received some good news snap out of it most immediately, such is the power of the mind. We must never underestimate ourselves, because if we feel down or low we lose the ability to see opportunity and that then is a very big negative aspect of life, not seeing potential, fun, happiness, laughter, etc.

We need every day of our lives to start it on a positive note regardless of the dexterity that we may need to just psych ourselves up for if we dwell on what's happening as opposed to ourselves and getting out of it then we will become the problem and not the solution. We are all different and react in different ways and even have different backgrounds and views on identical problems etc, but what is common to all are the self same feelings of lowness and that is the key problem itself, for where lowness exists so does the 'get out' solution too. We need to surround ourselves no matter who we are or where we are with positive people - no exceptions, they are the ones who are going to radiate the positive energy that you are going to fuel recovery upon and in turn reverse feed back energy to those around you too. Dark Clouds happen to anyone, sometimes they are very dark indeed and can render the self moribund and cast doubt as to any hope or indeed chance as to a way out, but clouds are but temporary and our efforts no matter what they are will force though that little glimmer of light that we all pick up on in an instant. The verve that the average human being possesses is astounding, however our mind which processes all of our body movements and thoughts needs to be updated like our computer software in order to maximise our potential and utilise full power not some sort of diluted strategy that leads nowhere.

TRYING TO MAKE LIFE WORK

More than ever people are trying to carve a life out for themselves based upon what isn't going as well as they perceive. Better house / flat, clothes, car, spending money, entertainment, gadgets, tv-phone-Wii-Xbox, the list is endless. And of course that base thought about the 'self 'and their relationship or getting one, and not everyone is set out to be a couple despite that they think that would make life complete for them, no it wouldn't. Stick to a "best friend" that way you won't be able to fall out because of not getting your own way or reluctantly having to frequently compromise - which you wouldn't like. It is difficult for many people to gain a better access to a life standard which they deem that they are worthy of than they have at this present moment, but often the change is an internal adjustment rather than an external acquisition, even though that would prove a nice thing. There's absolutely nothing wrong with trying to get a better stance on life after all it's there awaiting so it's not always pie in the sky, it can be real. But often the striving negates the present and if that happens to be the case then real instability of personal understanding starts to take over and what could have been good in the present is reduced to mediocre. Our mental attitude also plays a vital part in life and as to our enjoyment of it every day and not just certain aspects of it with somewhat bland times in between.

Depression, anxiety, boredom, lack of fun, lack of real camaraderie, lack of heartfelt warmth from a significant other / friends. Lack of silliness, lack of personal conversations at all levels with those you can 'talk to' and empathise with, being told off by your best friend - because you really haven't got one, sharing, etc. All these things make a significant difference to the quality of life for the individual. No matter who we are and whether we have 100's of 'so called' friends all over the globe there are those few or one that makes life just so much more enjoyable because you love them. We are all different but our basic needs are very similar, and whether we are globetrotters or sedentary that 'anchor' makes a difference. Our perspective on life and our attitude defines who we are, and those struggling already find that the going can get to an intolerable level because their base understanding in life isn't there. If focus is predominantly on 'hardship' it's difficult to opt out of that mode when faced with it, but if the subtleties of humanity are not there then real desperation and irascibility of the mind becomes more than real and develops into a place where life becomes cruel and the 'way out' seems none existent.

Despite the physicality's of what each person may or may not have life is relative and happiness isn't subject to comparisons nor is it a product of what is to come or may come along. Families can find life at times a struggle if not financially more mentally seeing their young grow into young adults and all the aggressive social problems that they face at increasingly younger ages than they did years ago. Manufacturers and advertising agencies are merciless at recruiting new recruits hoping to wean the impressionable and immature on to their products. They deny this but they are liers. Your children are to an extent a product of your parentage as indeed you are, failure often starts at home in a whole manner of areas, selfishness is almost borne in the home and is not a redeemable asset to have as it stultifies goodness and communicational skills. Whether we are going through a recession or good times it makes no difference to the happiness factor if it does it shows what a chameleon you are and your own susceptibilities to life. There are more "millionaires" made in times of recession than actually in the 'good times', and more creativity is in evidence too. If we need better there has to be a reason other than "just wanting it", if better is an accessory or an adjunct to life it will lose its ability to support our emotional needs, if it's deemed as an essential then we have to enjoy what we have now otherwise our emotional contact with it will forever thwart where we are currently living.

We create our own reality, thus we can either live and like life, even if not perfect or we can forever create an ambient struggle that we have devised and rarely try to accomplish as it's on a wish list more than a physical desire. Sadly today few people actually live their own lives according to what they want to do, it tends to be a homogeneous structure of bits from everywhere else which doesn't totally rest well within and causes an on-going instability and a feeling or unrest without cause.Trying to make like work doesn't work, you literally have to make it work then it works, trying is the journey which for most is a smart theory, making it work is a deed of sheer progress and determination, winners and losers.
